Sharon was a pleasure to work with. She is highly intelligent, gifted, and very professional. She not only worked with my daughter (who has a learning disability) but also with me so that I would better be able to help my daughter learn.
I found Sharon to be flexible in her scheduling, even allowing for last minute changes in appointment times. She was easy to contact, and returned my calls promptly.
She also has a lovely personality! Although we are no longer in need of a tutor at this time, I would hire Sharon again in a heartbeat. I highly recommend her!

I have the expertise to tutor elementary students (K-6th). I have 12+ years of experience teaching students in grades 4-6. I am impressed with Andrea S's strategy. She first made sure that she understood what my daughter hoped to gain from the tutoring sessions (set expectations). Right away my daughter was happy as Andrea S listened to her wants and needs. She then told her how she expected to be able to do this. Again she set up expectations that my daughter had a part in. She asked if this sounded reasonable.
From the first 2 hour lesson I saw improvements. The improvement was my daughter turning off the radio when she did home work for Andrea S. I asked her about this. She said there is no music when taking the SAT so it is best that she mimics the environment. I think this is the first time she has ever done quiet homework. The other improvement was her willingness to read to me. She asked if I would like her to read to me! I would. And she did.
Andrea S and my daughter have had only 2 - 2 hour sessions and already I see improvements.

I had recently taken bio/organic/inorganic/ chemistry II (CH 111). I had to take this class for the second BA nursing program I was accepted to for this coming January and had to take it over the summer while working. I had to take this class Monday-Thursday and worked during the day. Therefore, with very little time and 15 page take home tests I knew I would not be able to complete them in the little time I had. Therefore, I found Nilanjana. I was very nervous as to what to expect but soon found that this was the BEST thing I could have done for myself to get the A grade I needed.
Even though I only had a little amount of time on my hands Nulanjana was VERY flexible. We met many Fridays and even on a Sunday. Every time I needed to meet with her and when I asked if this time/day would work for her she always said yes! She was beyond flexible!!! We exchanged numbers and she told me to call her any time I had a question too. She truly wanted me to do well and of course understand the material.
As far as teaching went, she always knew exactly what to do and how to explain it. And if I wasn't getting it the first time she did a great job explaining it a different way and got examples which helped to put it all into perspective! She made sure I knew what I was doing by giving many examples/problems! I think she is so good at doing this because she has been a teacher in the past. Also, her being a teacher in the past helped me out because she knew what the teacher would have been expecting!!
I am so glad I got in contact with Nilanjana and think that anyone who is taking any type of chemistry class and needed some help would benefit! :)
