I currently work as a paraprofessional with children that have a 504 or IEP. I work with students in 3rd grade in Claremont, NH. I have been a paraprofessional for 3 years now. I have worked with all ages but prefer the younger ages. I believe that all children should be able to grow and learn with his or her peers. I have helped many students achieve what they need. I successfully home-schooled my oldest daughter in the Saxon Algebra 1 course. Content included exponents, the distributive property, factoring, graphing linear equations, polynomials, the Pythagorean Theorem, quadratic equations, word problems, etc. I have also completed a Geometry course with her, and we are currently working through Algebra 2. I hold a JD degree from Washington and Lee Univ Law School. Upon graduation I took and passed the New Hampshire Bar Exam (on the first try). I have a good basic knowledge of the core practice areas which are the subject of the multistate (multiple choice test) bar exam, which makes up about 50% of the bar exam. When I first began to read, I really wanted to understand what I was reading and where the story was going. This helped me to learn techniques to improve my own reading comprehension through the years. Even when I was in the third grade, I scored at at least an 8th grade level on standardized tests.
