Although we've only had one lesson with David so far, I can't say enough about how amazingly flexible he is in working out a schedule that fits into my son's busy life. David followed up both before and after the session. We are very pleased so far! I am hoping that in time, David will be able to help my son wrap his head around calculus, and it will become less of a struggle for him!!
11/18/14 update: My son has had 3 sessions with David now and he is starting to feel optimistic about his upcoming pre-calculus test. David continues to be very flexible and seems truly concerned about helping Austin succeed. I can see that these tutoring sessions (done against my son's will - because he thought he didn't need help) are very beneficial already and I anticipate that with David's continued help, will reduce so much stress from my son trying to figure out this very complex stuff on his own. Thanks David!!

"SAT Math Monster (Scored 800) "
I believe I have a special insight into mathematics, and I get a kick out of sharing those insights with others. I have successfully communicated those insights with others while tutoring on my own. I have tutored from Algebra 1 through Calculus, as well as the SAT. Mathematics is fundamental to so many other subjects that developing a deep understanding of it can impact what one decides to study in college, as well as the field one decides to work in. My preference is to deepen someone's... ... More
"Science and Math Tutor"
I am a state certified biology teacher and now a stay at home mom with my wonderful son. I work as an independent homebound instructor during the regular academic year. My subjects of interest/experience include most science courses but I'm extremely strong in math as well!
I have experience teaching at both private and public schools, and working as an independent tutor. My favorite aspect of tutoring is the one on one interaction and that ah-ha moment when everything clicks.... ... More

I teach all levels of Excel, both in a formal setting (adjunct professor at Middlesex CC) and informally (private clients and adult ed). I've found that some students are intimidated by Excel and the emphasis on formulas. I can take the intimidation out of it through some simple steps. (I "personify" Excel.) ... More

"Biology & Chemistry"
I've been tutoring for 3 years now, and I'm currently a certified tutor at my undergraduate institution. I am a pre-med student majoring in biology, and hope to also pursue a minor in public policy or sociology. Studying and learning are things that I am very passionate about, therefore helping other students feel confident and prepared is very important to me.
Although I prefer tutoring biology and chemistry, in high school I mainly tutored math, Spanish, and AP biology, and I am still h... ... More

"Patient tutor who helps each client master powerful language skills."
A command of Standard English is fundamental to success in our country, as well as many others. Equally important, the study of analytical reading and the practice of writing (in all genres) improve one's management and enjoyment of life. My students feel empowered as their skills and understanding increase. Their focus and motivation improve as their goals become better defined. It is a joy to observe a student finding his or her own voice, and learning to use it for specifically targeted audiences. ... More
