Deborah has been tutoring my son for a few weeks now. The sessions have been informal, yet still challenging. This is an important aspect as my son was initially apprehensive about the idea of being tutored. However, he has been completing the homework he gets, and even works a little harder to quickly finish the books he's reading. There is no question that his resolve to work this hard is due to a friendly learning environment, and his respect for Deborah.

My goal in tutoring is to develop your skills and provide tools to achieve your goals.
My teaching experience includes varied levels of students (high school, undergraduate and graduate students).
For students whose goal is to achieve high scores on standardized tests, I focus mostly on tips and material relevant to the test.
For students whose goal is to learn particular subjects, I make sure that the student understands the basics prior to delving into the details.

My son and I are very happy with Mary and I personally cannot believe how inspired I was selecting her from the several options I had on WyzAnt. Aside from perfect pedagogical skills and a wonderful personality, she is highly trained in her field and customizes her tutoring to her student's needs, keeping pace with how these needs evolve. She is also very good at incorporating feedback from the parents and making the students feel good about their performance and progress without "overdoing" it. All in all a perfect match for my 9 year old son who was "stuck in" phonetic spelling and was not able to move on to correct spelling on his own. We are VERY happy we met her and we recommend her without any reservations!!
