My daughter takes honors physics and is struggling even though she is really good in math and did very well with other AP science courses. We tried a handful of tutors and none were a good match for her. Dan proved to be the tutor that she really could relate to. Dan corresponded prior to the lessons with us to get the syllabus and detailed information on what was being covered in class and came fully prepared. He explained concepts thoroughly and very patiently and had her solve a variety of problems to ensure she had grasped them well. I would highly recommend Daniel to anyone who is looking for a tutor that can tailor his work to your needs and is patient and very knowledgeable.

"Exprnced HS Tchr (SAT) / Mdcl Rsrchr (AP Bio/Chem) / Engineer(AP Phys)"
I teach all levels of Biology, including AP Biology (i.e. college Bio taught in high school).
For AP Biology sessions prior to Spring Break, I concentrate on concepts, using 2 modes of study:
1. acquisition (mostly through reading of the AP text while I pose strategic questions)
2. quality-check of study (mostly through answering multiple choice questions using my "honesty method" and answering interactive questions in a study guide)
During Spring Break, and until the AP Exam, I concentrate on the Essay and practicing strategies for answering Multiple Choice questions. ... More
She made the student feel comfortable and was very clear in addressing his issues and discussing how he should prepare. As he approaches his finals in December we will most likely use her again.

"Japanese Native Speaker Tutor"
I was born and raised in Yokohama, Japan. I believe the best way for youngsters to become familiar with foreign languages is to have opportunities to interact with native speakers and learn basic grammar and conversation. I was lucky to have such occasions to learn English in Japan when I was in elementary school. I can apply my experience of learning English as a child to teaching American children Japanese language and culture.
I taught Japanese language to American adults in Japan. I also had a few opportunities to teach Japanese language to American elementary school students for their s ... More
Debbie has worked with our older son studying for the GMAT and younger son for the PSAT. She has developed specific plans to help our sons understand each test. She also scheduled lesson times that fit perfectly with our sons' schedules. Our older son was very satisfied with the results of his verbal score, and attributes his results to Debbie's help. We highly recommend Debbie.

Justin is an excellent tutor. He is always on time and comes ready for the subject matter, preparing ahead of time himself, and with a great attitude. We had some special issues that he skillfully worked through with our son. He has increased his confidence in his own abilities greatly. He is courteous, soft spoken and very patient. He made math and science approachable and less intimidating to our son. He made sure our son was comfortable with his assignments and was always readily available and very flexible with his time. Overall a great experience!

"Math made easy, Math made fun!"
Some students struggle when they start learning algebra because it's different from elementary school math. It takes some time to adjust to working with variables instead of numbers. I love algebra and enjoy sharing my knowledge and passion with students. I teach algebra using a step-by-step approach with examples of real world applications. Currently I tutor 3 students in algebra. I had another algebra student who has moved up to honors geometry. ... More
