I can't say enough about John. He's just remarkable. He's pulled our son's grades up, our son really likes him (very important) and he even gave me a session so i could understand what my son is doing enough to help him, too.

"Private School Teacher, Ivy League Tutor!"
During high school for approximately 2 years, I had been tutoring as a volunteer for grades 1-5 in math, science and English in a Hartford, Connecticut public elementary school. After graduation, I had been working as a private tutor for elementary (K-6th) students in the Northern NJ area. I currently tutor one student in elementary school for general reading, math and science. Previously, I have tutored 3 elementary school students in everything from general science to reading comprehension to Spanish review. I also currently volunteer with a non-profit organization called Paterson Education ... More
Meeraj has given my son many lessons to teach him Chemistry of High School level. He has very deep knowledge of Chemistry, works with my son patiently and prepares good questions to test him.
I also asked Meeraj to give few Physics lesson too, he was equally good at Physics too.
He covers a lot during each session. Compared to other tutors who I contacted, he took fewer lessons and was spot on from day one. I am glad to find him through WyzAnt. Thanks

"Top 100 Tutor |Top Scorer + SAT/ACT/GRE Expert|10+ yrs exp|70+ reviews"
I took the MCAT in the summer of 2009 after 1.5-2 months of studying for only a few hours a day. I received a composite score of 31 with section scores of 11 PS, 10 BS, 10 VR. On practice tests, my verbal scores always ranged from 10-12.

A good testament to a great tutor is that you keep coming back time and time again for more. This is my 4th lesson with Carter J. and what I like about this tutor is he's very knowledgeable and organized. He teaches at your speed and makes sure you not only learn the lesson but understand it as well. The lesson does not end when you step out the door, as he emails you related material concerning the lessons you just learned so it keeps you sharp and allows you to remember the material you just learned.
Overall, I like his professionalism, calm demeanor, and follow through. Would recommended him to beginners, intermediate, and professionals wanting to start or just brush up on their skill level. Carter J. is worth every cent of my investment and probably more.

I use HTML, XHTML, and/or HTML5 everyday, and have done work in the field off and on since 1994.
I currently teach a variety of web-design, web-coding subjects at a local college, and operate my own web-site that I use as a tool to aid my classes.
HTML in all its variations, the latest of which is HTML5, is actually a rather small language; however, its flexibility and capabilities are endless and growing, limited only by the limits of YOUR creativity.

As a tutor, our job is normally secondary to the teacher's. The teacher's job is to cover a certain amount of material in a given amount of time, making sure all students do their best. The tutor's job is to go over this material with usually just one student and further elaborate on this material. Sometimes, tutors realize that a particular student may be incredibly intelligent but may not organize notes well or know exactly what to material to focus on. That is where tutors can teach study skills. Study skills may include knowing how to read and outline technical textbooks or speed study Pow ... More
"Effective English, ESL/ESOL, and TOEFL Tutor"
The area of tutoring English as a second language (ESL) involves teaching and aiding the student in all aspects of the English language, including reading, writing, and conversational use. An ESL student's primary native language is one other than English and usually seeks additional tutelage to further understand other material that utilizes the English language. Depending on what each student's native language is, tutoring ESL may have varied paces. Students whose native tongue is a romance language will often have the easiest time in picking up English due to the languages' similarities, wh ... More
