Hello. My name is William. I am a certified math teacher. I specialize in high school grade levels of math. I have taught prealgebra, geometry and algebra 2 with high levels of mastery.
When teaching I believe in efficiency and rigor. When designing curriculum, I will focus on the core standards and how to learn the core ideas effectively. David clearly loves math and inspired my son to find the fun in his work. He is very patient and keeps the positive feedback flowing. My son had a few lessons this summer to gear up for 7th grade pre-algebra and geometry. He is looking forward to the new school year and can hit the ground running thanks to David's expertise. I would recommend him highly.

"Engineering Undergrad Tutor For Math, Science, and Regents Exams"
I grew up in western New York, and I am currently a first year student at Lehigh University. I am in an honors program where my major is a combination of an engineering and a science, and I absolutely love the type of thought that this duality requires. Outside of class, I am an avid soccer player (although I enjoy almost all sports), an artist, my own class of inventor, and I really love to read and just being active in general: whether that means going to playgrounds to swing, or getting in... ... My daughter is home-schooled and Herbert has provided us with invaluable information, not only about various ways to approach geometry, but also information about math in general and related home-schooling reference material. He has experience in many different areas of education and is very interested in helping young people learn in ways that are most effective for them, not necessarily the standard school methods. We truly appreciate his help, interest and enthusiasm!

"Math/Science tutor; developed many original materials to help students"
Been there, done that. I've developed lots of my own material, seen from student perspectives, to make all this more meaningful to them.
Equations, inequalities, functions, quadratic formula, imaginary numbers, logs, and laws of sines and cosines, flipping coins and such - a motley collection of topics gathered into “a course.†And yet there are patterns and connections to discover that can enhance learning and retention.
