Katie has been a blessing for my son. He had very low self confidence regarding ANY math, let alone stats! He would give up in frustration and have a mental block in continuing the problems. Katie showed him very patiently how to stop and evaluate the problem before he even started. She gave him tools to identify and tackle each homework problem as they worked on them together, and then on his own. He began tutoring with a poor grade in stats. A month later, he earned the second highest grade on his last exam. We are sooooo thankful for Katie's encouragement, knowledge and instruction. It is a gift she has, really.

Good study skills are not automatic, they are learned through experience and education. I learned detailed study skills when I was in Officer's Candidate School in the U.S. Army. I found what was taught to me valuable, not only when I was working on my Master's Degree, and now Continuing Education courses but, in the world of business. I continue to fall back on these habits if I change work fields, when my company adds a new product or product line and when preparing for a presentation. Basically, I find the following useful: find a quiet study area;
set up a regular schedule for each sub ... More

Dr. Craig A.
I came to tutoring with definite negative ideas about math/algebra and my abilities to do math. Craig worked with me to identify area where I was missing key concepts, and I was able to solve problem that I never thought I could have in the past. I left my lesson feeling a lot more confident about my abilities to do algebra. Craig was very professional, knowledgeable, and committed to helping me understand algebra.

Laura P. is nothing short of remarkable! I had hired her to help increase my son's SAT score for Reading. His Reading score after a few tutoring sessions with Laura: 800! Achieving this perfect score has done wonders my sixteen year old's morale and self confidence. I've recommended her to everybody I know with eleventh graders. Thank you, Laura.

I actually have a college degree to teach Social Studies. I have learned about US History from the Civil War to the Bay of Pigs. I have sat through classes on seminars in the 1960s and much more. I have learned all about the 13 colonies and why they decided to start a new country. Those who wanted religious freedom decided that they would depart England in search of a better life for themselves and their family. That is why the Puritans came and why the Pilgrims came. Those who came over on the Mayflower expected to find uninhabited territory and were surprised to find what they called s ... More
