Rob is very laid back, and makes learning statistics fun. He was very patient as well as helpful in terms of teaching and identifying what I needed. My situation is college level beginning stats, but as a mother of three teenagers, he would have the demeanor and knowledge to help them as well.

Find statistics challenging? I get it. To begin with, it's math (which is enough for many people). But beyond that, it is very different from previous math classes (like algebra, geometry, and pre-calculus).
That said, I enjoy working with students as an instructor and as a tutor. I hold a Masters in Applied Statistics and have used these methods throughout my career. I have also worked as an adjunct professor teaching Algebra II and Statistics in the classroom. I am very comfort... ... More
Ken's tutoring assisted me in learning the material I needed to get an A in my Stats class. An amazing feat since I am challenged by math concepts. He was flexible in the times he could meet and patient.

"Statistics and Economics Tutor"
Looking for some help with statistics? Many students find stats to be a difficult subject to master. To understand statistics, a student should have a good background in algebra and feel comfortable with graphs.
I enjoy working with students to not only learn statistical and probability theory, but more importantly, how to use it in daily situations. I have a Bachelors in Math and have been an instructor and a tutor. I hold a Bachelors in Mathematics, Masters in Economics, and have taught MBA statistics as an adjunct instructor for Indiana Wesleyan University. I can help bring some real-wor ... More

Joe has been very helpful to my son during the time that he has been tutoring him for math. Previously, my son had no interest in math at all. Joe has been patient and has tried different avenues of attracting my son's interest. He also sends him additional math problems via email free of charge to give my son some extra practice. He goes over these problems at the next session and they are able to discuss what was right or what was wrong. My son actually looks forward to the tutoring session each week!! I can recommend Joe to other parents out there who are looking for a tutor is all about helping your child succeed!

"Learn Calculus from an Actuary!"
Put at its simplest, Calculus deals with rate of change and area under a curve. In particular, differential calculus addresses rate of change in the determination of critical points of functions, maximum and minimum points, inflection points, related rate problems, optimization problems, slopes of functions at specific points and many, many other things. Integral Calculus focuses on issues relating to area under a curve. In a sense it is differential Calculus going backwards. Determining area, volume, cost/revenue/profit, and many other things utilize this form of Calculus. If you need so ... More
