I have lived in Germany and Switzerland as a student, teacher and soldier. First as an exchange student in Bonn, Germany on a DAAD scholarship. Then I worked for a summer in a restaurant in rural Switzerland. I served also as a medic in the USA army Europe, traveling throughout Western Europe and visited East Berlin before the Wall came down.
