"Learn Spanish from a Spanish Speaking Native"
Hello, my name is Elena. Although I was born in the USA, I lived in Mexico for over 20 years, and I consider Spanish my native language. I am also fluent in English, and enjoy translating and tutoring here in the States.
My background is in Law, and I've worked as a lawyer in Mexico for 8 years. While in school, I participated in several Spanish spelling/grammar competitions, and placed 1st and 2nd in many of them (yes, I'm kind of nerdy).
I am very passionate about Spanish language and cul... ... More

Update: My son just had fall parent teacher conferences and it was wonderful to hear how well he is doing. Lisa's tutoring has made a world of difference in his writing. He is now at grade level and his teacher said that he is at the top of the class and going above and beyond. What a turn around from a year ago when every writing assignment was a huge frustration for him. I am so glad we started the tutoring during the summer, I could see improvements already by fall and continuing into October has made such a difference - it was as if everything finally clicked for him. My son starts his writing assignments without any nagging on my part, does not seem to get frustrated and with some assignments seemed to actually enjoy them. I would recommend Lisa to anyone's child that needs help with their writing, she is amazing and so patient! My son's confidence and self esteem have grown by leaps and bounds and seems to be enjoying classes more. If he needs help in the future I will definitely ask for her help again, in fact I plan to schedule tutoring sessions for additional study skills training before the start of next school year as it will be a huge transition year for him to make sure he is off to a great start.
1st Review: I continue to be very pleased with Lisa's tutoring. I feel my son is making progress in a subject that is very difficult for him and without becoming frustrated. My son is feeling good about his progress as well. I appreciate the end of lesson explanations so that I may support him in the future and understand what works for him. The study hints for school have been very helpful as well.
