"Studies include a wide variety of English and math."

My students become capable if not outstanding writers. It all depends on how much effort is put in and using that effort in the right direction. The familiar feelings of where to start, how to finish, and what goes into the body of the paper are normal. However sometimes writing one good sentence, much less a whole paragraph or paper, seems overwhelming. These feelings are normal until we find success and confidence in your writing. I have been there, and now I have a degree in Engli... ... More

"Modern English Tutor"

Tutoring is a second chance to review/practice the skills and/or exercises learned within the classroom; tutoring should be conducted in an environment conducive to learning. My sessions are taught using the Socratic Method: a pedagogical technique in which a teacher does not give information directly but instead asks a series of questions, with the result that the student comes either to the desired knowledge by answering the questions or to a deeper awareness of the limits of knowledge.... ... "Pic and Pixel Math Tutor- Bad Art, Better Grades"

Hi, my name is Travis and I'm a Pic and Pixel tutor a term “borrowed” from my sister, a teacher. That means that my tutoring will likely include lots of bad drawings. It's also a reminder that details matter, but so do broad strokes. It isn’t innovative, but comes from my personal academic struggle. In Elementary school I turned in assignments and tests that I worked hard on (sometimes). Even when I knew I did well, I failed. My mother, also a teacher, made me practice penmanship, and when my... ... More

Vijay is an awesome teacher and tutor who has been very kind and patient in giving me understanding of electrical engineering and physics. He is brilliant in explaining the material and especially fantastic in explaining the material in an easy to understand format. I have worked with a lot of tutors and I can honestly say Vijay is the most impressive tutor/teacher I have ever met. I hope some day to be as proficient with electrical engineering and physics as he is. On a scale to 1 - 10 I give him a 9.5 - 10 easy. I know I can trust him when he's teaching me.

"Tutoring in math and physics for high school and college students"

I have taught pre-algebra leading up to algebra II and than calculus. My students do quite well at their school courses as well as standardized test. Students who are good at straight numbers quite often stumble when it comes to manipulating symbols. It takes a good teacher and practice by the student to become comfortable with symbols. ... More
