"A dedicated, compassionate educator!"
Greetings, students and parents. I am currently in my 11th year of education. I have extensive experience working with students of all ages, backgrounds, and academic abilities. I believe that all children have the ability to learn at a high level, and it is the job of the tutor/teacher to tap into that potential. As your tutor, I will get to know your unique abilities and build upon them. Together, we will work to ensure that this is the most meaningful, positive, and rewarding experience th... ... More
"TCU English PhD Student, 7 Years of Teaching Experience"
I'm a PhD student at Texas Christian University with seven years of college teaching experience. Additionally, I was a department chair for two and a half years at a community college before leaving to pursue my doctorate degree.
My favorite thing about teaching and tutoring is when students grasp something and they get excited. Even the little gains are important to me, and deserve to be acknowledged. I'm positive but also expect students to put work in and try. I know not everyone loves... ... More

We can't say enough great things about Melissa. First, she was easy to connect with and very easy to schedule our first session with. She gave us lots of options for times and it was clear early on that she was very interested in the success of our daughter. We were looking for a tutor who of course knew her material, (in our case it was AP Chemistry) and more importantly could relate to her students. Melissa has consistently excelled in all the areas that parents (and students) would want from their tutor. She is professional, but has a real connection with her students and is invested in their success. When ask after our first session with Melissa what our daughter thought, she said with a big smile on her face "She's really nice dad, and she really really knows her stuff!" You can't ask for more as a parent. If you're looking for a tutor who is invested in your child's success in his or her class and is reliable and, as my daughter says, "really really knows her stuff," then I am confident you'll find all that and more with Melissa!

Janet was extremely patient and thorough during our session. She patiently and methodically worked out each math problem, writing down every step, so that I could go back on my own and do the problems myself. I was nervous and tend to shut down when I don't understand something, but experienced none of those fears with Janet. She gave me the assistance I needed to prepare for a test I have coming up. Thanks, Janet!

"Highly Recommended Mathematics Tutor"
I have helped several students prepare for taking the mathematics portion of the TAKS exam. The grade levels include: 3,4,5,7,8,9,10,11,and 12. Many of my students are proficient enough to prepare for their next year's exam on their own, while others have come back. he returning students prefer me to help keep them on track in a structured approach to studying for their next mathematics TAKS exam. ...
