Welcome to my page! I am a college student looking to use her skillset to encourage and motivate others to master the subjects hardest for them.
While at Texas State, I was a Supplemental Instructor for an introductory history class. I assisted the professor with teaching the students the materials by holding study sessions three times a week and having office hours twice a week...just like a tutor! That experience made me realize how beneficial the help was to others while I was truly enjo... ... More

"Algebra, Trig, Calculus -- Learn to Love it as I Do"
I have had a long (30 years) and satisfying career in software development, but I was a math major in college. I helped my two daughters through their math classes, and they were always saying I should be a teacher. While I have enjoyed computer programming, math has always been my first love, and in particular, algebra, trigonometry, and calculus. When I was a graduate student, I was assigned to teach a few classes, and also worked as a Teaching Assistant when I was an undergrad. If you need... ... More
Marsha G. is a wonderful person, who gives effort and total support in every session. She maintains a great sense of humor and positive influence in helping my son to find and adjust the pace of work he needs. She is patient and flexible in preparing the material in several ways. Mrs. G. recognizes and shows appreciation in the student's strong points and accomplishments. Always a good listener and has responsive understanding of his academic needs. Hope she is available in the future when we need another session!

"K-10 Students Math and Science -- Improvement Guaranteed"
How well the concepts are understood in algebra 1 basically determines the child's success in math from then on (with the exception of geometry). As stated in the prealgebra description, a very strong foundation is needed in the early stages of algebra, since the concepts in almost all math courses that come after build upon the concepts of prealgebra and algebra 1. Coming from a student who at first struggled a bit in calculus because the foundation of algebra was a bit rocky, I cannot stress how important the concepts in the early math courses are to the success in the later ones. I will mak ... More
