"Phonics, Reading, Math, and Common Core Homework Help"
After finishing my degree in Elementary Education, I taught 3rd and 4th grade for three years. I learned the importance of a sound reading and math foundation in the early years of elementary education. For the last 2 years I have been tutoring at-risk students. I tutored groups of 1-5 students in Math, Reading, and Homework help.
I specialize in Phonics, Reading, Math (both traditional and Common Core), Grammar, as well as Social Studies and Science. I believe learning can and should... ... More
We feel extremely lucky to have found Gabrielle! She is very caring, professional and easy to communicate with. She is very flexible with her time which is important for a busy family. Our son has special needs and often has a hard time with new people but Gabrielle put him instantly at ease and knew the best way to deal with him. Her advanced degrees in education combined with her background as a teacher, and experience with special needs students, are a huge plus. On top of that she offered to communicate with our son's teachers which we appreciated very much. His teachers were very impressed with her as well which says a lot! We will be working with her again for sure!

"Ivy League Spanish tutor with availability for other subjects."
I have tutored and taught in three different states and am familiar with a wide variety of curricula. I make sure to apply multiple learning theories to assist the students in learning in a way that fits their needs and the requirements/materials of the course. Additionally, when I work with a student, I make sure to consult with them, the family, and the teachers with the parent/student approval to best meet the needs of the student. I typically communicate with the teachers regarding their expectations for the student, their expectations for the class, and the material that is going to be co ... More
Initially I was worried about a 2 hour session that included a 15 year old young man who is not ready to apply himself to his education. I hesitated to ask Shawn how the session went because I already knew he would say he didn't like it and we would be back to square one to improve his failing AP World History grade. Surprisingly, Shawn said the session went by quickly and proceeded to recall the many historical events that were discussed during his session. There are never any complaints from Shawn on tutoring days. We have continued regular sessions with Dean and I am happy to say the AP World History grade is steadily improving.

"AutoCAD Tutor thru 2015"
I have 20+ years experience in AutoCAD and other CAD programs used in Architectural, P&ID, Piping, and Electrical design. There are other disciplines, but these stand out. I have been in school the last 2 years to gain a certificate and degree in AutoCAD. My instructor claims he learns more from me than I do from him. I honestly do not know, but I have learned how AutoCAD has changed since release 2012.
I am currently tutoring students in AutoCAD 2014/5 professionally at/for Central Ari... ... More
"I have a love and passion for teaching, especially tutoring. "
While teaching online classes through Central AZ College, I discovered a love of teaching. I love tutoring because it gives me a chance to work with students on a one to one basis and focus on "issues" they may have. I have an understanding of the many students today who face the special challenges of being "visual" and "hands on" learners. Things must move so fast in the general education environment that it is easy to get behind or confused. I think one of the most important things lear... ... More
