"Retired teacher who never tires of teaching."
Having worked for the Paradise Valley Unified School District for twenty-five years, I retired in May of 2010. The following grade levels are included in a resume of my career: grade 6 at Aire Libre, 4th grade at Foothills, and 5th grade at Village Vista. The last 14 years of my career were at Desert Shadows Middle School where I taught 8th grade English.
Just knowing that a child "gets it" because I did or said something, reinforces my purpose for teaching. Tutoring, for me, is an ext... ... More
"Energetic teacher with a student centric focus."
When I was a little kid, I dreamed of growing up and saving all the animals of the world. When I realized that I could not stomach the sight of surgery, that dream quickly changed.
I was in the third grade the first time I realized I wanted to be a teacher. My teacher had a reputation of being the sternest teacher at our school but in reality he was dedicated to helping his students achieve greatness. He pushed me to not only be a better student but to be a better person. I knew he was som... ... More

This tutoring experience has been above and beyond. Not only did I get to meet a great lady, but a very skilled teacher with amazing amounts of knowledge of languages. She was very patient with me and walked me through many different phrases I would need on our upcoming trip.
When I struggled with the grammar side of learning, she pulled back and allowed me to go at my own pace, while I was still able to gain knowledge in this area. Not only was Sherry an outstanding tutor, she went above and beyond in helping us with bookings, cultural tips and many other extremely helpful ideas. Thank you Sherry for everything. Grazie tanto!

" Let Me Open Up Your World!"
My passion for French and all things French started in First grade. As a 6 year old, I told myself I would live in Paris one day and I did. Starting so young and continuing all the way through High School after many hours of language lab,I developed an excellent accent. From junior high on, I had French literature, history, and civilization culminating in AP French senior year. At 17, I spent the summer thanks to the Experiment in Int'l Living program with a French family, who I returned to stay with 4 years later. At 24, I spent the summer in Algeria speaking French with a Berber family. I go ... More
"I am an Anatomy loving, math tackling kind of girl!"
To be honest, I don't have experience teaching or tutoring - I went to Arizona State University and received my B.S. in Exercise and Wellness with a focus in Anatomy and Physiology. I am definitely more of a hands on learner, so going in that direction was 100% right for me. As I mentioned, I don't have experience tutoring, but I was definitely not a typical college kid - all I did was study and do assignments almost as soon as I could. That way I didn't have them weighing over my head.
