"Perfect Scores: SAT 1600, ACT 36, GRE Quant 170, Chemistry/MathL2 800"
I'm a graduate of U.C. Berkeley (Chemistry) and Stanford (M.S., Chemistry), and I've taught in high school and university classrooms and tutored privately since 1992. When I was at Stanford, my students gave me a teaching (T.A.) rating of 4.93/5.00, and I'm currently credentialed as a science and math teacher.
While I was designing the ACT prep class at Oklahoma Christian School, a student asked me to help him get a perfect score of 36. One of my other students spoke up, saying, “Your teache... ... More
I hired Jeannie to tutor my daughter for the ACT. My daughters score went from 24 to 31. My daughter says that after lessons with Jeannie, she understood how to take the test and that Jeannie made it very easy to understand. Thank you so much Jeannie!!

"Academic Tutor Extraordinaire"
Many students struggle with algebra. But it may be that the teacher's style just doesn't match the student's learning style. I help students discover their natural learning style and tailor my tutoring to match that style. Every student should have the opportunity to master this material and feel confident about their math abilities. ... More
I am a faculty member at a medical school and really needed a tutor who would work with me in a sensitive and supportive way to accomplish as much skill development and understanding as possible in a brief period. I had been working with an independent tutor for the previous day, and despite both of our best efforts, we got nowhere. I was feeling exhausted and discouraged, and yes, stressed, as my deadline was right after a holiday weekend. Barry enabled me to complete this project in less than two hours, and I feel refreshed, clear and very happy that I was able to do the work to rapidly and so easily. I asked Barry to continue to be my tutor for the remainder of my dissertation process. After a previous experience that has been so unproductive and, in fact, unnecessarily stressful, finding Barry was a real gift.

I have taught graduate and undergraduate statistics courses. I will provide several examples of biostatistical analyses in published papers. In my 1978 and 1979 collaborations with Barbara Henker and Carol Whalen, I used analyses of variance and correlational analysis of observer ratings and behavioral observations (using a behavioral observation system we devised) of hyperactive children. In 1984 Lois Mintz and I used analyses of variance on data generated from the observation of video tapes

"CTC Credentialed English, Reading, Writing teacher with PhD"
I love to teach because I love to learn. The two make for a very symbiotic relationship. As a PhD, I know that hard work and a passion for research and education pay off. I started tutoring while an undergraduate student at UCLA and have continued tutoring and formally teaching, both at the high school level as well as at the university level, since 2005. I have enjoyed working with students from varying age groups, from early adolescence to late adulthood. Regardless of their ages, I help my... ... More
