In my few years as a tutor, and in my work at various learning and childcare centers, I have enjoyed helping students learn and practice study skills.
During my H.S. training I lived overseas. The school system where my family lived would have been difficult to adjust to, so I completed my schooling via correspondence. This meant I had to be motivated and complete the work on my own in order to submit it to my teacher, through the mail, on time. Some people say they don't like to read. This generally means that they are poor readers. They may read so slowly that their minds wander to an easier enjoyment of what is being played on the radio or TV or what is passing by the window. Of course, the material may be very dull and uninteresting, or they may not have a very clear-cut idea of their purpose in reading it.
