"Elementary Math, Science, Literature, and Reading"
I believe that every child should be given the opportunity to learn and should never be given up on. As a current graduate student for my master's in elementary education, I understand the difficulty of helping your child with their homework my be difficult due to the use of the Common Core. I am here to help! Though my academic experience, I have learned the way to teach Common Core; and therefore can help your child understand what is being taught in the classroom in a way in which they wil... ... More

Melissa spends two hours twice a week with our third grader. He had trouble in his classroom and so the decision was made to take him out of school for the last quarter. Thank goodness we found Melissa who has experience home schooling and is such an engaging person. Her dual focus is to see he finishes the third grade curriculum and to prepare him to re-enter a normal classroom in the fall. Learning is fun again.

"Dyslexia, Public Speaking, Writing, and Career Prep Tutor"
I have had the honor of teaching several students with ADHD in private tutoring sessions. The reason I say "honor" is because these children are generally quite bright and very teachable IF they are taught in a way that is relevant and not boring to them. Generally, a child or adult with ADHD will learn more and learn quicker in a one-on-one setting. In addition to my experience with tutoring clients, my own son has ADHD and I successfully home schooled him for five years. Finally, being a parent of an ADHD child gives me great compassion and understanding for the enormous struggles parent ... More

Paul is tutoring my child for ACT English. He is enthusiastic and has motivated my child and helped with his sense of confidence. I believe the highest compliment came from son who said "I wish he was my regular English teacher". I highly recommend Paul; he is prompt and easy to work with.

"Three decades of experience to brighten your world!"
After twenty-eight years of teaching all aspects of the English Curriculum, I look forward to sharing this accumulated experience, insight and understanding with as many students as I can. Whether diagramming sentences, analyzing poetry, unlocking literature, or preparing for standardized exams, my students have grown to love the high return on their intellectual investment.
The main components of my approach to teaching have always included a high regard for the innate strengths and c... ... More

We reviewed the assignment I did before my first tutoring session. The purpose was to find out what I knew to determine a starting point to start the tutoring. Paul explained how I should think about learning statistics from the vocabulary to the symbols. We went over how to keep my loose leaf note book to which teaching aids, or examples I should always write down. The emphasis is on learning something, not just getting past the course. Paul my be smiling in the picture, but he is a no nonsense tutor. For me that's good. I know this is going to be productive.

Meredith has been working with my son this quarter and she has proven to be a very dedicated and supportive tutor. My son has shown improvement in his Pre-Calc class and would recommend her highly.

I am so thankful we found Judy! My 6 year old son has already gained a finer understanding of reading comprehension thanks to Judy's well planned sessions. His confidence is also much stronger in the reading area. She has a super way of engaging kids to make learning fun and each session is unique and well thought out to the needs of the child! My son looks forward to the days that Judy comes to learn with him, and talks about his fun lessons with her all the time. I would highly recommend Judy for her superior skills and knowledge into children's reading comprehension and also for the kindness and big smiles she brings to us each week!
