I met Wendy on two separate occasions for 90 minutes each. I was in dire need of refreshing my algebra skills for an upcoming test for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). It has been nearly 20 years since I had any algebra courses and upon receiving sample questions I realized I needed help. Wendy is an OUTSTANDING tutor!. I couldn't be more pleased with the confidence I have gained since she began her lessons. Wendy was able to determine at what level I was and where we needed to start. We worked together on order of operations, distributive properties, negatives, equations and more. I am no longer fearful of the upcoming test and find that I am even excited to test my rediscovered skills. I have no reservations regarding Wendy and her abilities as an accomplished teacher and tutor. I feel very comfortable recommending Wendy for anyone who needs help with algebra. Thank you Wendy!

"A certified teacher with over 20 years' teaching experience"

My name is Wendy. I have a secondary school (middle and high) teaching certificate in math from IL, and an endorsement in psychology, and experience with most other subjects. I have been teaching for the past 20 years and more, usually in math, but often helping with many other subjects. I have developed a number of little tricks to help with remembering many steps and different methods. I try to make learning fun and develop a comfort with it. I don't want math to be boring or tricky, s... ... More

"Female Tutor specializing in Math and Physics"

I have been a curious student my whole life and I like to pass on not just knowledge, but my love of learning. I graduated High School with a GPA above 4.0 and immediately joined the US Navy in their Nuclear Propulsion program. I spent 4 years in the Navy learning about nuclear reactors and then decided to start a family when I got out. Since then I have finished my BS in Physics with a minor in Math graduating Cum Laude. I also was inducted into the physics honor society, Sigma Pi Sigma,... ... More

Ubong taught me new features on my computer, and he helped me accomplish with confidence the use of my new computer and other devices.
We have had several tutors and Nataliya is by far the best (and the one my son likes best). She tutors my 7th grade son in math. She has a very thorough knowledge of math and is very adept at finding different ways to explain things until she is confident that my son understands. She is extremely patient and encouraging and gives a lot of positive reinforcement. Beforehand she asked me what math book my son was using, what they were studying, and what his problem areas were, then she (at home on her own time) made these beautiful (her handwriting is impeccable and neater than you can imagine) and very detailed drawings (with corresponding written descriptions) of different types of shapes (all the different types of triangles, etc.) as a reference for my son to use when doing his homework. She is very good about making sure that he has a really complete understanding of the concept they're working on before she moves on to something else. She is very kind and soft-spoken and low-pressure, and so patient, and, at least with my son, this has done wonders for his ability to understand. She doesn't just lecture, she explains things in such a way that my son is interacting with her and with the material as she is explaining it. This has given him a lot of confidence in not only his ability to solve problems, but in his ability to ask questions when he doesn't understand something. She really inspires trust in him and so he is not afraid to make a mistake or admit when he is confused. I am confident that when she teaches him something that he really knows it, as she is so conscientious about making sure that he truly understands. I would highly recommend Nataliya to anyone. The combination of her rock solid understanding of the subject matter coupled with her kindness and patience make her the perfect tutor. She is a very sweet lady who genuinely likes and understands children. We feel very lucky to have her.
He is really responsible, patient, and helpful. Instead of doing the problem himself, he guided me to do the problems on my own and I can definitely know what is going on!
