From the moment we discovered Ginny on the website, till she completed the first lesson, everything went perfectly. She has an astounding expertise in Photoshop and graphics, a pleasant personality, a sense of humor and displayed great patience in explaining and working through the solution to the problems presented to her, all of which she solved.
Amazing, that through WyzAnt we were able to discover just the help we needed, right in our own town!

"Digital Arts Professional"
I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Design and five years of experience working with video production software. One of the video production software applications I work with is iMovie. iMovie is a Mac OS X software component of the iLife suite. iMovie helps you create video footage from artwork, photo files or digital camera recordings. With the software’s editing tools you can edit your video clips and enhance the footage with color correction, titles, speech, music, sound effects and transition slides. The video you create can then be exported to YouTube or embedded into a websit ... More

I specialize in tutoring Spanish from introductory through college level. I have ten years of experience tutoring children (as young as preschool) and adults. I have taught both Spanish individual and group classes in a variety of locations throughout NY and CT. My native language is English, however I have lived and studied in Spain and Ecuador. I am passionate about all things Spanish (language, music, dance, food, culture).
My methods are successful and holistic, encompassing all le... ... More
"Narrative Art Lessons"
I have been working as a freelance illustrator of children's books for 15 years. I've also had experience teaching at every age level, either as a private tutor or college instructor (Syracuse University). As a working artist, I am especially qualified to teach students serious about going into the arts. I am good about recognizing a student's weaknesses and work closely with them to improve. I am fluent in multiple methods including: oil paint, acrylic, watercolor, charcoal, pen & ink, a... ... More
There have been four lessons so far, and I can already see improvement. Cecilia has shown great patience and a fine sense of humor as she attempts to teach not only the Italian language but also the culture and spirit of Italy. I highly recommend her.

My profile title should give you a pretty good idea of what I like about my Country (Italy, obviously).
My most recent tutoring experiences included
- an ex-police officer, now bodyguard for a VIP in New York City. His love for Italy included cars, dogs and food (he end up going to Bologna, my hometown, for a 1 month course to learn how to cook, and indeed he did, just ask his wife!),
- a female firefighter (high ranking) in love with Italian Art, small Italian towns, good wine and Itali... ... More
I came to Frances knowing nothing about painting. I was also very apprehensive about whether or not I could be taught how to paint. After our first lesson I not only realized I could learn how to paint but with Frances’s guidance I could also expand my mind in ways I dared not consider. Frances is such a unique teacher. Aside from being a brilliant painter, she has an impressive resume of experience and knowledge in many fields. Over the course of our time together, she has managed to teach me about painting in a personalized way that has helped me to not only build upon my existing field of expertise but surprisingly to learn more about the world around me. I find myself contemplating our painting conversations frequently and at times when I am not only thinking about art. I always look forward to meeting with Frances and applying her knowledge to the things in life that interest me.
As an art professional myself, a working NYC artist who exhibits widely, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Frances knows as much about contemporary art as she does about the old Masters. Her wealth of knowledge is astounding which gives her an ability to cater her lessons to your own personal needs in a manner that has your best interests in mind rather than a prescribed teaching approach. Frances is also wonderful at helping you build upon your strengths in order to get you to the necessary next stage. Not only does this foster self-confidence but it enables the skill and information to click in a way that helps the process to move faster as you continue to study and learn. She is by far the best art teacher I have ever had and I can confidently recommend her. It is a rare thing to find a teacher so well versed in painting, design, textiles, psychology and children. I am happy that she can teach me and soon, when my son is a bit older, I hope that she can teach him too. She is a true gift!

"Classical Art Techniques and Creative Self-Expression for Any Age"
As an Undergraduate I exceeded the requirements for a minor in Art History, maintaining a 4.0 grade point average across 42 credit hours of Art History.
Additionally, I have direct experience from working in 3 major Fine Art museums, as follows:
1. My first Masters Degree if from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. As a teaching assistant I facilitated the inclusion of children with Autism into enrichment programs. This work included taking trips with the children into the AIC Museum Collections. After graduation, I was hired to continue this work as an adjunct professor.

I have been working with Mr. Timothy for about two months and I've made a lot of progress. I have decided to take Japanese independently, in place of Spanish in school, and Mr. Timothy has agreed to be my teacher for the next two years to facilitate that.
The lessons are always really active - he brings in media, other sources, and offers relevant Japanese culture points that go along with the lesson I'm studying. The books he suggested are well written and organized, and he clearly has experience figuring out the proper pace for the course.
I am attempting to finish 3-4 academic years of Japanese in 2 years, and with Mr. Timothy's help, I definitely think this is possible. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is serious about learning Japanese.

"Experienced High School Japanese Teacher"
I started my Japan journey in 1990 when I went to Japan to teach English. I ended up staying for eight years, getting my Masters degree from the University of Hawaii in Asian Studies, and becoming fluent in the language in the process. After returning to the States in 2001 I taught Japanese for two years at a public elementary school in South Carolina and have been teaching Japanese for the past eleven years at a private high school in Westchester. As a non native teacher of the language and... ... More
