"Recent College Grad Looking to Give Back"
I have been helping my fellow students informally since the start of high school. After graduating from MIT I feel like I can continue to assist others with a desire to learn and excel. I understand that some, if not many, students benefit greatly from a more oneonone learning approach and I look forward to passing on my knowledge and the study skills I have learned to the next generation.... ... "The Latin language still lives. It grows every day."
Hello Latin students. I taught myself to read, write and speak Latin about fifteen years ago, when my kids were in middle school. When they marched passed me in their college graduation processional, they shouted out: "Dad, it's your turn now."
Although I had failed out of school forty years earlier, I decided to return. My Latin training enabled me to "ace" my SAT's and complete undergraduate course work in about two years. That's what Latin can do for you.
I am currently certified t... ... More

Barbara tutored my daughter in her college MicroBiology course. When my daughter first went to her, she was struggling with the course and was just about passing. Having always done very well in school, my daughter was beside herself. Her first test right after the first session, she got a 90!. Barbara took the time to show her study skills, "tricks" for learning the material, and most of all the confidence she was lacking. She met with Barbara a total of 4 sessions. This being a summer course, there was quite a bit of material to cover in a short amount of time. In the end, my daughter went from a C to a B in the course! I was so lucky to have found Barbara and highly recommend her. She is very professional, patient, understanding of the student's needs, and very proficient in her subject area. Barbara always responded quickly to any emaiI or phone call. I will definitely use Barbara again if there is a need. To sum it up, Barbara was "awesome"

"Physics, Biology and Math"
Hello and thank you for viewing my tutoring profile! My name is Barbara and I'm a licensed high school physics teacher with 17 years of experience tutoring students, especially those who need an alternative way to learn the material. I take what the student already knows and build on it – I find that this makes them feel comfortable and confident that they can learn the material. In the beginning, I take time to find the student’s optimal method of learning, whether it’s by the traditional ro... ... More

John has done a excellent job preparing my son for his upcoming high school entrance exam. Each week he comes equipped with the materials such as study guides, work sheets and old exams that has helped to challenge my son into remembering, learning and familiarzing himself with both the material on and the taking of the test itself. He worked with us to make the scheduling very convenient. I would highly recommand John as a tutor.

Spoke to Brian about tutoring my senior in high schools and he wound up tutoring both the senior and the junior. He is patient, supportive and very kind. Both my children have a better understanding of physics in one lesson. I am very pleased and thrilled we found Brian.

"Math and Physics Tutoring"
I always knew that I loved math and physics, and when I was entering college I asked my father for guidance/assistance as to what direction I should pursue in college and subsequently my career. I remember he asked me "What do you love and what do you do well?". I answered honestly saying I loved math and I was good at solving problems. Well, this was very clear according to my father that I should then be an Electrical Engineer. So, about 20 years ago I completed my BS in Electrical Engi... ... More
