Hi! My name is Leonard. Besides being a published author in English (my native language), I have years of experience teaching and translating from classical and modern languages. I have been teaching (mostly in Catholic seminaries) since 1994, and so I have good and prolonged teaching experience. I received higher education (Doctoral degree) in Rome, at the Pontifical Biblical Institute and the Gregorian University, and so I speak Italian fairly fluently. I also have many German friends, esp... ... More
Kailyn asked for help with questions that will be on the new version of the PSAT. Eric was able to work through them with her and she appreciated his style of talking through the problems so it made sense. Loved the white board!

"Experienced educator, English, History, Technology, Stained Glass"
I have been a teacher for over thirty years in History, English, and Digital Arts. I am passionate about inquiry, curiosity and learning, which I know do not always match school requirements. Learning is complex and has many moving parts that need to be addressed simultaneously: learning styles, cultural and social background, prior education, hopes and fears. Putting all of these together to become a successful life long learner is my goal in all of my relationships with students.

My 7 year old son has worked with Jennifer for six months. Despite being bright, he couldn't master phonemic awareness and phonics through his instruction at school alone. He felt stupid and avoided books at all costs. Now he has begun to read proudly and states that 'Journal Time' is his favorite activity at school. He walks down the hallway with his nose buried in a book!
What helped immeasurably was Jennifer T's ability to pinpoint instruction to his exact level. She scaffolded lessons so that he was always successful and encouraged him to stretch to the next level. She provides him with games, activities, physical touch cues and even dance moves to help him master phonemic awareness! He has so much fun, he wants to go to tutoring (and this is a very active little boy!). She has provided me with resources to better my own understanding and consistently provides us activities and materials to help us at home.
I am an educator myself and felt helpless that I could not help my own child learn to read. We needed an expert and feel blessed we found one. Best of all, my son found not only a teacher but also a cheerleader and a friend.
