Was very familiar with the topic (Calculus) and able to convey ideas and concepts with ease.
Jared also connected the specific concept of the chapter with those of future chapters, placing the entire lesson within the context of calculus as a whole. In addition, he was also patient and willing to wait for his student to try to figure out the problem on his own, before he jumped in to help. An overall effective and amiable tutor.

"Math and Physics from Elementary to University"
I have over four years of experience tutoring with hundreds of hours of tutoring time. I have an excellent background in tutoring and the courses I cover, much of which I got when I studied Civil Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (Worcester, MA)
Although it is a small college of 1600 undergraduates it has a sterling reputation for math, science and engineering. Math and science courses at WPI built upon a strong foundation which started at Oakland Technical High School's Enginee... ... More

I would highly recommend Diana for help with dyslexia. My son started 6th grade needing reading support in school every other day. By the end of the year, he was meeting all his benchmarks, and we have learned that he will not need supplemental reading support for 7th grade. We are all beyond thrilled!

John was a great tutor for my daughter and helped her prepare for the math SAT test. He accommodated her busy schedule and was flexible with her tutoring times. He was always prompt, polite, and easy to get in touch with. After having her take a diagnostic test before their first session, he quickly identified what she needed the most help with and focused the sessions on those areas. He was well prepared for the sessions and, in addition to working with her in person, he provided her with several handouts on time management, test taking skills, practice problems etc. My daughter and I highly recommend John as a tutor!

My 7 year old son has worked with Jennifer for six months. Despite being bright, he couldn't master phonemic awareness and phonics through his instruction at school alone. He felt stupid and avoided books at all costs. Now he has begun to read proudly and states that 'Journal Time' is his favorite activity at school. He walks down the hallway with his nose buried in a book!
What helped immeasurably was Jennifer T's ability to pinpoint instruction to his exact level. She scaffolded lessons so that he was always successful and encouraged him to stretch to the next level. She provides him with games, activities, physical touch cues and even dance moves to help him master phonemic awareness! He has so much fun, he wants to go to tutoring (and this is a very active little boy!). She has provided me with resources to better my own understanding and consistently provides us activities and materials to help us at home.
I am an educator myself and felt helpless that I could not help my own child learn to read. We needed an expert and feel blessed we found one. Best of all, my son found not only a teacher but also a cheerleader and a friend.
