Susan does a great job of keeping me informed of my child's progress through regular reports. These reports are detailed and informative, and seem to neatly expose the core issues that she and my child are addressing. I very much appreciate Susan not only as an educator, but also as someone who is providing me with insights into why the topic had previously proved to be difficult for my daughter. Thanks, Susan!

"All-Around Tutor -- Math! Standardized Testing! Reading! Writing! ESL!"
I have many years of experience, both within the classroom and privately, in working with students with ADHD. As part of this, I often work with the student on organizational and time management goals and on learning goals. I help my students gain more awareness around who they are as learners and help them to figure out strategies that work for them, based on their strengths, needs, and learning styles. I also often work with individuals on social thinking.
First day was pretty good. Everything went well very and Astride was patient, I will admit to that. Then the second day we were supposed to meet at 10 a.m., but she was late. I waited 10 minutes but still no show. Then the third time we met for only 15 minutes, which was pointless. We also didn't get to the point of what I was actually trying to learn. Overall an, alright tutor.

"Uplifting and Knowledgeable- your multi-faceted tutor!"
Thank you for wanting to do better in school.
I have been happily tutoring for almost 6 years and generally teach elementary to high school. I am fluent in Spanish, in addition to it being my minor in college. My major was a Science - based one, so I teach mostly Science, Spanish, and Math. Because not everybody is the same, I like tailoring the learning interaction to the learning style of my student.
Having been a coach to kids in school, I have a love for inspiring. Patience is key... ... More
After one meeting with Jack, my son is ready to meet again! He enjoyed Jack's approach for the first meeting. We both suspect the subsequent meetings will be set up to target additional test taking skills/strategy along with review of practice test homework in all 3 areas. Looks like we are off to the right start.

I have had issues understanding my Managerial Accounting class, as my professor does not seem to explain things where I can really understand the subject. I have recently had one meeting last week with George and he took the time and was very patient with tutoring me in the subject. The result was 100 on my homework assignment (which I was not able to achieve in the past in this class). I have met with George today for tutoring on the same subject and he took his time in explaining that all the information in my homework problems was not necessary and that I should think about the question they are asking me. He went over my homework and I seemed to understand quickly how to work out the problems. I will definitely request a meeting with George again for this subject and for my upcoming Finance class.
Thanks George. I really appreciate your help.

"A College Professor Who Explains Things Clearly"
I have a master's degree in accounting from Bentley University, and I have taught accounting for a total of 16 years as an adjunct professor at Mount Ida College and then at Nichols College. Students are often baffled by accounting because their teachers do not explain it very well. Students tell me they are surprised at how much easier the subject is once I have explained it, because I explain it very clearly. I tutor both financial and managerial accounting. ... More
