Andrew is an amazing tutor! My son is dyslexic and tests are very hard for him, but with Andrew's help he got an A in college calculus. Andrew is continuing to tutor my sons (14, 17 and 19) for this semester and I am hesitant to write this review so that I could keep Andrew as our" hidden gem."

Susan does a great job of keeping me informed of my child's progress through regular reports. These reports are detailed and informative, and seem to neatly expose the core issues that she and my child are addressing. I very much appreciate Susan not only as an educator, but also as someone who is providing me with insights into why the topic had previously proved to be difficult for my daughter. Thanks, Susan!

"All-Around Tutor -- Math! Standardized Testing! Reading! Writing! ESL!"

I have many years of experience, both within the classroom and privately, in working with students with ADHD. As part of this, I often work with the student on organizational and time management goals and on learning goals. I help my students gain more awareness around who they are as learners and help them to figure out strategies that work for them, based on their strengths, needs, and learning styles. I also often work with individuals on social thinking. ... More

I am impressed with Andrea S's strategy. She first made sure that she understood what my daughter hoped to gain from the tutoring sessions (set expectations). Right away my daughter was happy as Andrea S listened to her wants and needs. She then told her how she expected to be able to do this. Again she set up expectations that my daughter had a part in. She asked if this sounded reasonable. From the first 2 hour lesson I saw improvements. The improvement was my daughter turning off the radio when she did home work for Andrea S. I asked her about this. She said there is no music when taking the SAT so it is best that she mimics the environment. I think this is the first time she has ever done quiet homework. The other improvement was her willingness to read to me. She asked if I would like her to read to me! I would. And she did. Andrea S and my daughter have had only 2 - 2 hour sessions and already I see improvements.

Chau is very professional, and personal. Chau can assist a person in understanding the material step by step and is willing to explain until she is assured you understand the material. Chau will review homework, grasp where your misunderstanding the problems, and tutor you in such a personal manner you are never intimidated to say "I still do not understand". I highly recommend Chau, to anyone who wants a tutor that cares about your success and is willing to give as much time as she must to see that you get a good grade in the course.
Chandler is very professional, on time, and knows his science subjects very well. I got tutoring for chemistry and I don't think I would have passed my final without him. My class only got one day of lecture to grasp organic chem from an "Intro to Chemistry" and he totally saved me. I read the book, went through the notes, but having Chandler explain it and break it down, not only made me understand it but also helped me realize it wasn't so horrible. He is very knowledgeable in chemistry, and helps you understand the subject. Nonetheless, he has YOU do a lot of practice problems, not just do them for you or show you how, but it's ALL hands on. His real life examples definitely helped me put some complex definitions into perspective. I would recommend him ANY DAY! It's worth the time & money. Thank you Chandler!
I highly recommend Patricia for anyone pursuing a degree in public relations or journalism. For those who seriously want to improve their writing skills, this is the tutor for you.
