Hi my name is Jenn. I have been teaching for 10 years. I have taught grade 6 math/science in Westford for six years. I am impressed with Andrea S's strategy. She first made sure that she understood what my daughter hoped to gain from the tutoring sessions (set expectations). Right away my daughter was happy as Andrea S listened to her wants and needs. She then told her how she expected to be able to do this. Again she set up expectations that my daughter had a part in. She asked if this sounded reasonable. From the first 2 hour lesson I saw improvements. The improvement was my daughter turning off the radio when she did home work for Andrea S. I asked her about this. She said there is no music when taking the SAT so it is best that she mimics the environment. I think this is the first time she has ever done quiet homework. The other improvement was her willingness to read to me. She asked if I would like her to read to me! I would. And she did. Andrea S and my daughter have had only 2 - 2 hour sessions and already I see improvements.

I started tutoring with Tutor Edward B. in March of 2011, and at first I really was not sure what to think (he looked great on paper, great credentials), but how would he be as a one-on-one tutor? For starters he was punctual and knowledgeable, very knowledgeable, and for someone like me who struggled with accounting (statistics, and finance) classes he was the perfect tutor to go over the information that I was having trouble understanding. If you asked him to go over it again, no problem, if you wanted things to go at a little slower pace, no problem. He was there to make sure that you succeeded (and with my last 9 classes ALL of them were either an A or A-.) I attribute the grades to my hard work, and most importantly the tutoring/mentoring help that Tutor Edward B. offered. He not only helps you, but motivates you as a tutor and brings out your best qualities as a hard working successful student. The reason I had not written such a review previously is because I wanted to make sure that I received my B.S. in International Business (December 2012) prior to writing a review like this one. I needed Tutor Edward B. to help me through to the end... and he did! He will do the same for another student that needs help as well (particularly in classes related to Finance, Statistics, Accounting, International Business, Strategic Management and more.) He is very helpful and works at the pace that I can learn the material. He is able to explain things in such a way that you end up understanding the material very well. I am very happy with the results. If you are looking for one of the best tutors that Wyzant has to offer look no further than Tutor Edward B., I promise you will not be disappointed. Regards, Javier
Glenn has been tutoring my daughter in pre-calc. He is very good at setting her off to solve a problem and providing guidance as needed when she is stuck. He guides her when she is stuck, not at every step. She has grown more confident and adept at problem-solving as a result. Recommended.
John is a great tutor and it is a pleasure having him in our home. He arrives on time or early and is very communicative. In the few sessions we have had, John has been able to connect with our son, which has led to noticeable improvement. John takes time to work with and listen to our son and will redirect his active mind in a very calm consistent manner. John is also open to working with our son's teachers and has shared some strategies with us so we can all help our son improve.
