"PhD in Mathematical Physics"

I have a BS in physics from Polytechnic Institute of New York and a PhD in mathematical physics from the University of Florida. I also have enough credits all together for a BS in math and did 18 graduate credits of course work in math at UF. I've done math and physics tutoring on and off during school and have been tutoring for the last 4 years (including a lot of online tutoring). I've taught general physics both with and without calculus (PHY2048, 2049, etc. in Florida). To familiariz... ... More

"Former Math Professor"

I am a former community college math professor. Most of my tutoring experience is in algebra and calculus. That being said, I've also tutored physics and statistics. The best thing for me about tutoring versus teaching is that I can focus my attention on one student. When in front of a classroom, it is pretty much impossible to address every question that each student may have. I am patient and not judgmental. I encourage my students when they are struggling. My goal is to help you learn th... ... More

"Engineer, Physics and Math Graduate USF"

I am a recent graduate of the University of South Florida, with a Bachelors of Science in Physics and a minor in Mathematics. I am currently employed as a Systems Engineer in Orlando. I have extensive experience tutoring math, physics, and other science subjects, from elementary to college level. I believe that understanding the fundamentals of the material is the most important part of learning- and so my approach is to explain how and why things work the way they do, and then concentrate on... ... Steve was an awesome tutor. Very helpful, very patient, and broke everything down into simple easy steps so things made sense. If it wasn't for him I probably wouldn't have passed my business statistics class. Even when I thought I was asking silly questions for the basic things you needed to know he stuck with my questions until I understood and really helped me understand the bigger picture. Awesome tutor!

"Aerospace Engineer"

I'm an Aerospace Engineering student who loves calculus and physics. I have a fairly deep conceptual understanding of the subjects and can provide great ways to think about the material so you understand it and don't just have to memorize formulas! I want to tutor to get experience teaching because I want to be a professor after grad school. I'm a student too and I make mistakes and sometimes misunderstand things, but if that happens we'll work through it together and come out with an even be... ... More

Pamela worked with my son, who needed a tutor in college-level Business Law to finish up his incomplete from last semester at Western Michigan University. Here's what he has to say about her: "Pamela is a wonderful tutor, and I would recommend her to other people. She's great at conveying information, and great at explaining, and overall a wonderful tutor. If you need help in a course, you should go to Pamela."
I was failing statistics. I took a class that was way over my head because they didn't require a math prerequisite and I needed statistics for graduation. Well, by the midterm, I was in major trouble because I had forgotten many algebra skills. Matt helped me study for the midterm and then helped me with basic math skills that I needed along with the statistics concepts. I ended up getting an A- and my GPA was saved!
