I highly recommend Kevin M. as a Math tutor. I am very pleased with how he helped my daughter readily resolve difficulties that she was having with freshman Algebra. Kevin addressed the problem areas that she was experiencing and gave fundamental instructions in a way that helped her understand Algebraic concepts. I had the opportunity to observe Kevin teach my daughter, and it was obvious that he engaged her attention throughout the sessions. Most importantly, Kevin looked forward to teaching. He requested information ahead of the time, in the form of quizzes and chapters that my daughter needed help with, and prepared strategies before the sessions in order to make tutoring time most productive. My husband (a certified English teacher) and I (a licensed counselor) both agree that Kevin has the ability to engage and teach students of all ages in the fundamentals and concepts of Mathematics.

Jude was very good at analyzing my project and the code I prepared, and he showed me very quickly how to solve bugs and improper behavior of the user entry forms. I highly recommend Jude for students having questions in programming and for evaluating existing projects.

David didn't go over things mechanically. He had real life examples and was easy to work with. He threw out some problems and patiently waited for me to answer. If I needed a push, he would give me a push but never give me the answer. I had to work to figure it out. That is how you learn! He was also very personable. I'll be meeting with him next week and the week after, etc.

"Certified Teacher of NJ"

As a certified teacher, I know what I expect from my students. As a mother, I know that sometimes those expectations can become demanding and frustrating to a child. I do my best to balance being a teacher and understanding as a mother to better demonstrate and explain information. After 12 years of teaching different age groups, academic and grade levels, as well as university levels, the key is patience and time. As a teacher, I follow deadlines, standards, and target goals for an en... ... More

My tutor, Matt A., gave me excellent instruction in exactly what I asked that he teach me. Additionally, he taught me some helpful short cuts for doing ordinary things (eg, reviewing a series of images in a file in a folder of which one was going to be chosen to be used, by using a viewing option I wasn't aware of - nor was I aware of being able to use the whole path to get to the folder and file while being is the program we were in to begin with). He was very patient and went back and waited while I wrote the steps down and then put the "doing" in my hands so I'd remember how we did it. Even though I'd wince when he'd clear the page and tell me to re-create it, that was really the best way to learn it. I feel comfortable doing what I learned and also contacting Matt for further tutoring. Would also strongly recommend him. He was very knowledgeable, but more than that, he listened to what I asked and wanted to know and then taught that to me. You can't ask for more than that.
