"Math/science/biostat/statistics/epidemiology tutor"
I have a master's degree in epidemiology, which meant that I had to take a couple biostatistics classes to master the subject matter thoroughly. I also currently work as a data analyst where I have daily opportunity to apply my rigorous biostatistical knowledge to answer real world health problems. ... More

"Retired Univeristy Professor"
I have taught undergraduate and graduate statistics and math for over 25 years. I am now retired and love teaching so I'd like to help students who struggle with math and math concepts. I make math and statistics easy! I try to translate these subjects, which I consider a "language" into plain English. I also like to relate seemingly abstract concepts to simply, realistic concepts.
I have taught online, in lecture format, and in interactive learning formats using the computer as an aid whe... ... More

Differential Equations is an intriguing subject, normally encountered in the science major's second year of training. However, some readily available methods of solution are handled by algebraic means. For example, the timevarying homogeneous LDE:Y"+bY'+kY = 0, with real constant coefficients can be solved by assuming an algebraic solution of the form Y = e^(st), and solving the operatoralgebraic equation in 's'.
If the LDE is nonhomogeneous, then using Green's functions, the Wronskian, or even Variation of Parameters provide elegance. Also, many of these methods can be extended to LPDEs ... More

"Math, Statistics and English"
I currently teach ESL at nights for "USA English Audiovisual School," in Plainfield, NJ. This gives me little time to tutor for Wyzant. But it does mean that I am very good at teaching English.
Most of my experience has been tutoring statistics for graduate students enrolled in non statistics programs. I learned what I know the hard way, and understand frustration many people have. All my tutoring experiences have been for classes with an integrated statistical computation element. Thi... ... More

Arithmetic skills is the most important aspect of Algebra 1. Solving polynomials, matrices, linear functions, and geometric relationships are involved in Algebra 1.
Having these type of skills lead one to solve any equation or problem. Having the right arithmetic skills is the key for success in any mathematics class. ... More

Eugene was gracious and literally went "the extra mile" when he tutored our son in AP Calculus. Although we live on the other side of town from Eugene, he graciously offered to drive across town to meet with our son. He seems very knowledgeable in Calculus, and showed our son some advanced problem solving techniques that have not yet even been covered in his regular class.
We very much appreciate Eugene's dedication and courtesy, and would recommend him without hesitation to anyone seeking a tutor for advanced high school mathematics.

Fatima is well versed in Java and very patient. I am a beginning student and she explained Java so I could understand the language. She is meticulous in her teaching methods. I would recommend her to anyone looking to expand their knowledge in Java language.

Tim was a great tutor. He covered AP calculus and helped her further her understanding of concepts she was struggling with. She feels prepared for her next lesson and exam.

What an intelligent, funny and sensitive guy. Luis was a great tutor and very patient with mis errores.

Steven is a very knowledgeable individual. I looked him up when getting ready to begin my econometrics research assessment. I had a professor who wasn't the most helpful when it came to guidelines, structure, and general assistance on the project. Luckily, I found Steven! He has helped with giving me direction and direct commentary on each stage of my research assignment. We went through my data sources, variables used, conceptual and quantitative framework, etc. When I turned in my first draft, my professor was impressed with the progress that I had made to that point. He was able to give good feedback, and was most impressed with the "future plans" section of the paper that Steven helped me set up. Needless to say, I had one of the best reports on their first draft review. Now, we are finishing up the final polishing of the paper and preparing for my presentation on the project. If you have any econometrics trouble or projects in which you need any assistance, Steven is your man! He's not only very knowledgeable in the subject matter and very good at analysis, he's patient, and he generally wants you to do and perform well. He's worked with my schedule when needed and made sure we covered everything we needed to get done so I would be prepared. I wouldn't have made it this far on my project without his help! I would recommend him a million times over for any help you may need!
