"Elementary Math/Reading Teacher/Tutor"
I am an elementary education graduate. I have worked as a Paraprofessional for one year and currently work as a math and reading intervention teacher. I have worked with all grades, mostly Kindergarten, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. After school, I help 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students on their homework.
My method of teaching to students consists of being patient with the student and guiding them through the thinking process so that they might come up with the correct answer on their own. Eac... ... More

I studied chemistry, zoology, nutrition, public health, and management and have advanced degrees. I attended the Air Force Academy, Johns Hopkins, the University of Georgia, and the Georgia Institute of Technology. My two daughters were Valedictorian, Salutatorian, and Star Student of their schools. I worked with them on their math, science, SAT, GRE. They scored over 2200. We had to make a surprise visit to Bill's area near Kansas City, for a family emergency right before my son's first SAT. It could have been a disaster, but luckily we found Bill. He calmly came into the situation, was very organized, very encouraging, and in such a short time, helped my son raise his math score by 110 points! We like his work so much that we now arrange Skype lessons with Bill from our home on the East coast. I have absolutely no hesitation recommending Bill. He is the best tutor we have ever worked with!

"College instructor with 20 years experience in math, physics, com"
My own son has ADHD, so I am very familiar with the challenges that this condition presents to the student. I have a lot of experience in both teaching and tutoring students with ADD and ADHD. The most important aspects to help them with is organization and to give them a sense that they can succeed despite the issues they have. Patience is the most important quality that a a tutor must have when dealing with students with ADD/ADHD. ... More
Rodney tutored me in basic computer applications. I was trying to prepare myself for a job that was technologically advanced for me and in three sessions with him I felt so much more at ease in my new position. He was also very flexible. I am a teacher and a mother and he was very willing to fit our sessions into my schedule and reschedule when necessary. I would advise anyone I know to hire him. He did a great job and he is incredibly nice and patient.

"Math Tutor - Algebra (I/II/College), PreCalculus, Test Prep"
I have been meeting with a 16 year old boy who has a combination of Asperger's (a form of Autism), OCD, and ADD since August of 2011. My role has been to help him develop his "life skills". His mother describes one of my keen skills as knowing just when to "push" her son to get more out of him and when to "back off" still keeping her son on task, making the best use of the time that the boy and I are together.
One of the "life skills" that boy wanted to improve was to be more dependable. I have used an analogy of stepping stones to get across a creek or a stream, one stone at a time. In this ... More
I was fighting and struggling extremely hard with my managerial accounting class so much just trying to stay in the D grade range so I wouldn't fail the course, that actually I had to drop it 3 weeks in to the semester last spring, and take it solo during the summer. After one lesson with Randy, I learned more methods and techniques to help the accuracy and performance of my test taking abilities than I had in over 3 semesters at Johnson County Community College, due to a severe lack of relevance that my tests had in conjunction with our homework and class teachings. I feel like the service he provides is worth twice as much as what he charges to share his vastly superior knowledge in this subject, and I will continue to see him up until my very last assignment in this class is complete.
