I have supervised a program for adolescents with ADD/ADHD compounded by other emotional and acting out behaviors. I have served as a social worker in an extended care facility, where the children often had ADD/ADHD as a condition above their medical issues. I have tutored adults and transition age youth with ADD/ADHD in GED prep through a Career Center. ... More

I am impressed with Andrea S's strategy. She first made sure that she understood what my daughter hoped to gain from the tutoring sessions (set expectations). Right away my daughter was happy as Andrea S listened to her wants and needs. She then told her how she expected to be able to do this. Again she set up expectations that my daughter had a part in. She asked if this sounded reasonable. From the first 2 hour lesson I saw improvements. The improvement was my daughter turning off the radio when she did home work for Andrea S. I asked her about this. She said there is no music when taking the SAT so it is best that she mimics the environment. I think this is the first time she has ever done quiet homework. The other improvement was her willingness to read to me. She asked if I would like her to read to me! I would. And she did. Andrea S and my daughter have had only 2 - 2 hour sessions and already I see improvements.

"Former professor, now a homeschool mom and tutor."

I was a Lecturer for 5 years at Hesser College and Chester College in multiple subjects. Before teaching, I spent 10+ years as a vision researcher at Harvard and its affiliates. In addition to teaching at the college level, I also homeschooled my son through middle school using an accredited curriculum. His exemplary test scores for curriculum progress and the ISEE standardized tests demonstrated both his learning and my teaching ability in all middle school subject matter. I am a patient... ... After one meeting with Jack, my son is ready to meet again! He enjoyed Jack's approach for the first meeting. We both suspect the subsequent meetings will be set up to target additional test taking skills/strategy along with review of practice test homework in all 3 areas. Looks like we are off to the right start.

Susan does a great job of keeping me informed of my child's progress through regular reports. These reports are detailed and informative, and seem to neatly expose the core issues that she and my child are addressing. I very much appreciate Susan not only as an educator, but also as someone who is providing me with insights into why the topic had previously proved to be difficult for my daughter. Thanks, Susan!

"All-Around Tutor -- Math! Standardized Testing! Reading! Writing! ESL!"

I have many years of experience, both within the classroom and privately, in working with students with ADHD. As part of this, I often work with the student on organizational and time management goals and on learning goals. I help my students gain more awareness around who they are as learners and help them to figure out strategies that work for them, based on their strengths, needs, and learning styles. I also often work with individuals on social thinking. ... More

Evan was easy to work with, punctual, professional and I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs help with their PC.
CarolLynn is hands down the best tutor that I've had. She is very personable and easy to understand. She ensures that I understand the concept by drawing visual aids. Also she provided me with some cheat sheets of information and formulas that will help me remember what I have learned. I highly recommend CarolLynn as a tutor. So far I have been able to keep my A in my statistics class.
