I've loved learning since before I could walk. I'm really observant, and I grasp things quickly. I'm totally blind, and fluent in braille. I'm an avid reader; English was my favorite subject in grade school. While in school, I tutored braille, and have taught people in any way I could. I've received accolades fin Spanish, for outstanding achievement in reading, and writing, as well as the "White Hall Leadership award" for independence, and independent living. I've been active in my school c... ... More

"Language arts tutor"

I am a dedicated and determined instructor, who believes that everyone can learn. The desire for learning is possible regardless of age, cultural background or condition. If someone wants to learn, nothing is impossible. I use conversation as the basis for learning. Children learn their native language through listening, repeating, reading and writing. Using this method, I make the learning process easy, gratifying and fun for anyone with an aspiration to learn a new language. I can speak, ... ... More

Yesterday's lesson was great. I've had a few lessons so far with Scott and he continues to display great patience and knowledge of the law. He has been able to bring me to 'Ah Hah' moments, which has been very satisfying. He has a specific methodology that he's using in bringing me to Cal Bar Exam 'ready-level.' He's keeping me very motivated too, and I look forward to continued lessons.
My goal was to study for the SAT Subject Tests in Physics and Math Level 2. We only had five weeks to do this, and David was extremely helpful. He was always prepared and had multiple ways of explaining things in order to ensure that I would understand. Only having one year of an IB Physics course under my belt, I was completely in the fog about everything besides Newtonian Mechanics. David was extremely knowledgeable in all things Math and Physics and taught me all the physics that I had not already learned. He was extremely easy to reach through the phone (text or call), and worked well with my schedule. I took the tests one time on November 7th, and received an 800 and 790 in Math Level 2 and Physics respectively. I am very happy with my scores, and David was extremely helpful.
Ganesh is able to teach math better than any professor I've ever had. He's unbelievably patient and he clarifies concepts very well. I am not an easy student to tutor. I was mathematically illiterate until about three years ago, I have a learning disability, and he was able to help me understand statistics significantly better than I expected to. Most math tutors don't know how to explain certain concepts effectively to people who are less familiar with the information. If I didn't understand a problem he would explain it in as many different ways as possible, to the point where most teachers or other tutors would just give up on trying to help me. If he could help me through my statistics class this semester, then I think he could probably help anyone.
My tutor was accessible and more importantly, punctual. His easy manner and ability to understand the difficulty I was experiencing. Dean helped me through it in a way that made it possible for me to proceed, in a confident manner, accomplishing the necessary procedures. Dean was very helpful in walking me through the processes of both utilizing software provided with my camera, as well giving me instruction concerning the storage and separation of folders and files within folders. He also instructed me on various aspects of my computer which this novice considered GREEK! Bottom line; he's just easy to work with and his attitude is conducive to learning.
