Abby is very skillful in helping my son brainstorm essay topics and ideas. She's able to help my son get his "inner voice" on paper, refine passage for meaning. She is very professional and a pleasure to work with. Writing college application essays can add to one's stress. With Abby's help, I can tell my son is feeling a lot better about the process.

"Writing Tutor gr. 6-PhD, College App Essays, SATs (reading/writing)"
I believe anyone (this means you!) can learn to write well and enjoy it. With more than 20 years of professional writing experience and a master's in journalism from Harvard, I know what it takes to write well, and I can teach you. That's right: YOU. I can help you conquer writer's block, say what's in your heart and mind, make yourself understood, stand out from thousands of applicants ... and get good grades. "My passion for learning informs my passion for teaching!"
I am a lifelong learner who loves to share my passion for language and literature with students. This past year, I worked as a full-time tutor in an urban charter school where I helped students achieve their reading and writing goals and prepare for the SAT, PARCC and MCAS tests.
At Brown University as an undergraduate student, I studied Comparative Literature to deepen my written communication skills and master the art of critical and persuasive writing. The research and analysis skil... ... More

We were very pleased with Anna and wish she had stayed on as a tutor. If she ever returns, we would hire her again in a heartbeat. Our son needed a refresher in Chemistry. He stayed focused, made progress and learned even though it was August and he had a summer job.. He was motivated and she was a good teacher. She was professional, organized and expert in her field. It was definitely the right match.

"MIT Grad Keen to Tutor Math, Science, SAT/ACT"
I love to tutor and am excited to find myself with enough time to take on a small number of students. I graduated from MIT and am currently working on a start-up part time and at MIT as an instructor. I miss the one-on-one academic environment and am keen to share some of my knowledge. I would like to teach math (through BC calculus), science (physics, chemistry, biology, environmental), engineering (mechanical, electrical) or history (modern European or US). I could also help you prepare for... ... More
