Lisa was quick to assess where my son needed help and did not show up with a preconceived plan. She met him where he was at, and quickly adapted the first session to be fun and supportive. She did not waste any time, and I think that we will be back on track in only a couple of sessions. She is terrific.

Hello there! My name is Lisa K. and I am a certified earth science, biology and chemistry teacher with the state of California. I have been working with teenagers and high school students for 20 years, in Israel, and here. In Ojai, I worked at the Ojai Valley Youth Foundation on video and media projects, and now I'm a science teacher (and fluent in Hebrew, in case you want to learn Biology in Hebrew, for example). "Experienced and Enthusiastic Math and Science Tutor"

I have a love of learning and very much enjoy passing that on to students. I find a lot of joy in guiding experiences that help others gain an intuitive grasp of new topics and appreciate being able to contribute to "light-bulb moments." I have a long history of working with students and employees who tell me that they are "bad at math" or "bad at science." Math and science are inherently cumulative subjects and an incomplete understanding of the key topics of one course often leads to a shak... ... More

Every student learns differently as I discovered in the 15 years of homeschooling my two daughters. As I study math and chemistry I have learned to look at difficult concepts from different angles, never give up, sometimes there is one part of a concept missing that puts up a wall to understanding, and once the missing piece is in place the whole thing makes sense. (the ah-ha moment). As your tutor I would help you tailor your study habits in math or chemistry to your own learning sty... ... More

"UCSB Bio-Chemistry Major and Campus-employed Chemistry Tutor"

My name is Ben, and I'm entering my 4th year at UCSB as a pre-med Bio-Chemistry student. In my spare time I like to play soccer and rock climb. During my two most recent years at UCSB, I was a Lab Assistant for the freshman General Chemistry labs. I have a younger sister and as a result have been doing some form of tutoring all my life. I've learned that the best way have a student remember a concept is to guide them to the answer themselves, rather than simply supply them with direct an... ... More

Rini is a great tutor. We are pleased to have her help my son learning math this summer .My son is working on Algebra 2, and he has some problems in statistic and trigonometric. Rini is very experienced in those topics and can make it clear for my son to understand. She has good communication with students as well. Furthermore, she always responds to our request in time and is flexible in schedule. That's really good for us. Although it takes some time to drive to her house, we think it's rewarding. My son rates Rini as one of the best tutors he has ever worked with. We appreciated her help and will keep working with her in fall if my son has any further problems in math. Thank you very much, Rini.
Doris is a GREAT tutor in German. She is patient, fun and kind to the kids while also keeping a good work ethic. She communicates well in English and in German. The kids love her! She is also mature and honest. We are thrilled to have her. Thank you, Doris.
