Lauren is great with my son who has ADHD. I have definitely seen improvements in his school work and self esteem since he has been working with her. Lauren has a unique way of getting my son to show his creativity and she sucessfully inspires him to express himself through story telling and writing.

"Creative, Caring Tutor, Specializing in Reading and ESL"
I have many years of experience teaching and tutoring elementary school age children. Every child has a different learning style. Some children have more difficulty focusing on their schoolwork and sitting still for extended periods of time than others. I help them use their energy in a positive way by engaging them in hands-on activities, break up their lesson into smaller parts and provide ways for them to have more movement as part of the subject they are learning. As with any child, I focus on the positive and praise their efforts. ... More
Rachel is very nice and actually was familiar with the somewhat unusual book my daughter was reading (most people are not). She was very patient, working slowly to make sure my daughter fully understood what was happening in the story and it's significance.

"Friendly and patient tutor for students of all ages"
In the last few years, I have worked with many students with ADD and ADHD. Every student is different, and one thing that I have learned in my teaching is that a strategy that doesn't work for one child or adult might be a good solution for another. I try to be creative, compassionate, and fun in my approaches to helping students focus. Some solutions have included: incentive systems; short breaks within sessions; physical activity like jumping jacks or dancing; games and songs; organizational checklists; etc. I am open to trying new things and collaborating with parents and teachers to find s ... "U.S. Law, :Legal English and Writing, and Introductory Russian Tutor"
I passed the PA Bar exam in 1975. During my first year of law school (covering most of the bar exam subjects), I read aloud all first-year materials to a blind Vietnam veteran law student. I have not tutored anyone recently (recently retired, just beginning tutoring), but I have authored 3 books: One on business law (The Legal Environment of Insurance), one on insurance regulation (Insurance Regulation), and one on legal writing and oral advocacy (Legal Writing and Oral Advocacy). Additionally, for the past 20 years, I worked not only writing these books, but also drafting, literally, thousand ... More

Isaac was very accommodating and worked hard to help me. I'm sure his teaching methods work well for the majority of students. Unfortunately, I have high functioning autism, and my test scores didn't improve after his tutoring. I would highly recommend Isaac for regular students, but people with autism should probably find a tutor with specific experience in teaching students with special needs.
