"Knowledge for Power"

My name is Charlotte and I am 43 years of age. I have experience teaching children with ADD, ADHD, and Aspergers. I say this because my youngest daughter, although extremely gifted, was not able to understand traditional teachings at school; so she was home schooled from 4th - 6th grade. During this time, she excelled on her End of Grade Testing. She tested much higher than her grade level on several courses. I am also very patient and versatile. I say this because my daughter who has ADHD and aspergers had to practice many different ways for her to understand the lessons. ... More

"History is Back to the Future!"

I have taught history, government, political science, and basic writing courses at the community college level for more than 25 years. The philosopher George Santayana said that "those who do not learn the lessons of history are doomed to repeat it" and it's so very easy to look all around us and see that his adage is true. Learning history is critical if we are to become good citizens and become contributing members of our society. Additionally, I have served as a congressional aide on ... ... More

Boni A.

I am an adult student who wants to learn how to draw. I have no experience in this area and it can be a little intimidating to learn a new skill at my age. Boni made me feel very comfortable as she quickly led me through some basic drawing techniques. She is very knowledgeable and was able to easily move into a teaching style that fit my specific skill level, abilities, and needs. By the end of my first lesson, I felt very confident that I will be able to achieve the goals I have set for myself.
