Ms. J. is terrific! I went to her to learn Excel. This wasn't my first run at it, but this is the first time I was able to follow what we were doing. I'm technophobic and innumerate, and too often people attempting to teach me either move too fast or lose patience. Not so, Ms. J., a professional teacher who showed me why she's been in demand by some of the country's leading secondary schools. I'm a lawyer with degrees from four different universities, including Harvard, and I've encountered no better teaching. Ms. J. quickly adjusted to my pace, answered my questions without wincing, and we made enough progress in one session to make me eager for more. She's also pleasant company. After I knock off Excel, under her tutelage, I may even ask her to teach me physics, a subject I avoided like a social disease, all through school. Who knows--I may yet get a Nobel.

"Physics Made Phun!"

I am a physics teacher with 20 years of experience. I have worked in various settings in the past -- as a researcher at Columbia University, as an MCAT course developer at Stanley Kaplan, and as a teacher. I enjoyed my first lesson with Shawn. He has a big knowledge in every area I need help with. His teaching is fun and he is very kind. He taught me some word pronunciations and origins. I can't wait for my next lesson. Thanks, Shawn.

Karen is very considerate and teaches me how to speak English correctly using interesting articles. First of all, Karen always makes me feel at ease. This gives me confidence, so I enjoy speaking English. Even if I use broken English or my pronunciation is repeatedly wrong, she corrects my mistakes kindly. That is a big chance for to me to improve my English without fear. Karen's tolerant attitude encourages me to speak English more. I have also learned to speak English efficiently in class with Karen. In class, I speak about an article that I am interested in with her, correcting my pronunciation and intonation, and then I try to summarize the article. Karen and I sometimes discuss the article, too. It's a great opportunity for me to study my animation skills by reading articles related to my major, and it also helps me to improve my English directly during our classes. This is one way for me to kill two birds with one stone. I am satisfied with these tutoring classes because I get to read interesting articles related to my major, and I learn to improve my English at the same time. I am happy to meet with Karen every week because she is always generous with her compliments, and I learn a lot during our tutorials, not only about my English, but also about my animation skills, which is important to me because that is my major.
