"Published writer; excellent history, English, writing and other t"

I love history and enjoy literature and writing. My A.B. degree was about the equivalent of a masters in English. I have had background checks done twice in the last 2-3 years in order to do the substituting I have done and am doing. If you need me to get another, I'll be glad to do one. Grammar is important, and needs to come first. After grammar, teaching someone how to write with a good style, beyond the basics, would be only a part of what I can do. Writing is more than putting down w... ... More

"Experienced History and English Teacher"

What I do best is engage students one-on-one or in very small groups. The conscientious student will learn the material, and will learn to think critically about the material. Chances are that we will have a good time doing it. [That's really all I have to say, but the form I'm filling out requires a minimum of 250 words for some unexplained reason (no critical thinking allowed?) so I'm continuing to write, giving you some background and maybe insight into the process I'm going through t... ... "History Buff and Literature Guru"

I attended Norwich University majoring in both history and English. I am a voracious reader and love any form of literature. I took classes such as American History, European History, Medieval History, Russian History, both Classical and Modern Literature, Modern Chinese History, American Government and Politics, and Greek Mythology. I believe in a hands-on and active approach to learning. I find that with problems of memorization, using both red or other brightly colored pens and pacing whil... ... More

"Professional published writer will train writers "

I studied theatre as part of my English classes in high school and performed regularly in high school productions, one of which won the Moss Hart Award in October, 1973 (honorable mention) for the play Becket: or the Honour of God (by Jean Anouil) as the lead actor (Becket)in the New England Theater Conference. We trumped three professional troupes! Subsequently, I went on to college at Salem State (Massachusetts) and continued my studies in a more professional environment. When living abroad in my career, I earned a side living doing television commercials for products as part of my busine ... More

He is very knowledgeable, friendly, and caring tutor. My son is 15 and he likes his teaching method. It has been only 2 sessions. This way, I am hopping my son's grades will be improving soon.
I've been studying for the Bar Exam with Hank for a few weeks - he's definitely been very helpful. He clearly knows all the subjects very well and is able to convey the information I am struggling with in a way that makes it much easier to understand. Comes prepared to every lesson with a lesson plan and sends helpful outlines/example questions/essay questions prior to our session. Definitely recommend to anyone studying for the Bar Exam.
