Barbara tutored my daughter in her college MicroBiology course. When my daughter first went to her, she was struggling with the course and was just about passing. Having always done very well in school, my daughter was beside herself. Her first test right after the first session, she got a 90!. Barbara took the time to show her study skills, "tricks" for learning the material, and most of all the confidence she was lacking. She met with Barbara a total of 4 sessions. This being a summer course, there was quite a bit of material to cover in a short amount of time. In the end, my daughter went from a C- to a B in the course! I was so lucky to have found Barbara and highly recommend her. She is very professional, patient, understanding of the student's needs, and very proficient in her subject area. Barbara always responded quickly to any e-maiI or phone call. I will definitely use Barbara again if there is a need. To sum it up, Barbara was "awesome"

Hello and thank you for viewing my tutoring profile! My name is Barbara and I'm a licensed high school physics teacher with 17 years of experience tutoring students, especially those who need an alternative way to learn the material. I take what the student already knows and build on it – I find that this makes them feel comfortable and confident that they can learn the material. In the beginning, I take time to find the student’s optimal method of learning, whether it’s by the traditional ro... ... More

I've been a graphic designer for the past 9 years. Working in the field that I love has been a rewarding experience, and I continue to grow as an individual and a designer. While at my last job, I had the opportunity to mentor a Jr. level designer and to share with him my knowledge and expertise. I was also a substitute teacher for several years, of which I spent most of my days in the art room, helping students with their masterpieces.
My way of teaching is really no different than most o... ... More
I am very pleased with Virginia H. She is patient and very guiding. She listens completely to what my son tells her and she builds on their conversation to take things a step further. She is very positive which gives my son confidence! Always on time.

Passing the Praxis can feel like a daunting task. I know, because I just took it myself recently. I passed with a score of 193 out of a possible score of 200. This high score earned me a Recognition of Excellence from ETS. I would be happy to help others achieve their goal! ... More
Anna is very helpful and patient with my child. She has basically changed her attitude in 4 hours of tutoring. My daughter has challenges in Reading and Spelling and since working with Anna, not only has her skills improved tremendously, so has her confidence. My daughter is attending an accelerated private school and she was very behind in the knowledge.. hiring Anna was my last resort prior to withdrawal. I am so grateful to Anna for assistance. I highly recommend Anna.

I have been a substitute teacher at East Windsor Regional School District and a Kidzart instructor at three schools in East Windsor and Hightstown. Due to my work in the public schools, I have a background check approval letter that I can provide a copy of, as there is one from Wyzant. I would love the opportunity to tutor students individually.
I have a Fine Art Degree and am in the process of becoming a full time art teacher. I have a Certificate of Eligibility in K-12 Art as a teacher. I ... ... More
I chose Cecilia to help me prepare for GRE math. Her initial emails showed her to be the literate, personable, sincere, and caring tutor that she is. I am a totally right-brained artist, actor, and writer so I was glad that she discerned the style of communication that I needed. A very resourceful tutor, she brings extra printouts to sessions which you will keep. She will find and deliver the right approach you need.

"Math and Computer Science Tutor"
Although I spent most of my career in IT on Wall Street, I don't remember a time when I didn't tutor. As "fifth from the top" in a family of eleven children, I starting tutoring my younger siblings at a very early age. The first official tutoring job I had with a student outside of my family was with a fourth grader when I was in the seventh grade. I tutored children sporadically throughout high school and college. In my undergraduate program at NYU, I majored in Computer Science after spendi... ... More
