"Ivy League PhD"

I have a BS in "Computer Software" (meaning programming rather than hardware design). Most of my work for the BS was actually done at the Graduate level, which makes me eligible to teach college CompSci according to most accrediting organizations. I have, in fact done so at five different colleges. I have taught a general intro to computers at three colleges, and intro to HTML, as well as programming C(++) & Java at at two. I was "programming coordinator" at Penn working in the _Center for the Computer Analysis of Texts" (meaning that I was both programmer and supervisor of other programmers ... More

Jillian worked with him on sounds and sentence structure. She also had a lesson plan prepared just for him.
My son is very happy with James. He actually came up to me the other day and specifically asked me to let him keep getting tutoring lessons with him. James is very professional and really takes the time to go over everything in detail. He doesn't just show my son what he's been doing incorrectly but he takes the time to show him how to work each problem out to get to the correct answer. James supports what he is teaching by not just using the problems my son shows him that he's having problems with but he also comes up with his own examples. This has really helped my son get a better grasp at how to problem solve as well as get a better understanding of the process that's required to solve each problem. He always leaves notes and examples with us from every tutoring session which have been a tremendous reference guide for the days James isn't tutoring my son. And, if more than one approach can be taken to get to the answer he's been more than willing to take the time to show my son the various ways to get to an answer. James never rushes through the lessons and as time progresses my son has started to feel more confident about the material.
Roger was very patient, accessible, and of course extremely proficient in math - it was obvious it is something he genuinely likes to do! He tried to individualize his teaching style and teach in terms I would personally understand. Roger provided me with a multitude of extra lessons (outside of my own study materials) in areas needing additional work. Roger is an excellent tutor, with experience in teaching all math, but especially in helping students and professionals prepare for the GRE.
