"College Student Specializing in Undergraduate & High School Math"

Hi, I'm Aaron. I'm in my third year at the University of Maryland, College Park, where I am a math major. I attended Montgomery Blair High School, where I was fortunate to be able to take many advanced math and physics courses not normally offered in high school through the math/science magnet program there. I was always good at math, but Blair was where my interest was truly sparked. The fantastic teachers I had there inspired me to pursue my own interests in mathematics outside of what was ... ... Our son's pre-calc final was today, so last night was Barry's last session with him. Mike felt very confident going into the the test and came home feeling good about it, too. We have been so pleased with how Barry worked with Mike and how he respected and admired Mike's abilities. He took time to get to know Mike's interests and future plans so he could both encourage Mike and give him pointers for achieving his goals. We would highly recommend Barry F. for other students who need help. All that and he's a very nice man, too!

Worked on variations of the verb "to be" and Kate's approach was very effective and learning is going better than expected.
We met Shaun for one session with my 15 year old son who needed assistance with Intermediate Algebra. Shaun quickly established rapport and demonstrated ways for my son to approach problems in a manner he hadn't been shown in class. Shaun provided the right amount of positive reinforcement without overdoing it. My son was impressed with how smart he was and how quickly he could do the math exercises in his head! Shaun spoke with my 18 year old son who is having some issues with Physics. My son was insistent that he did not want or need any help. He and Shaun had a brief discussion about teaching methods, approaches, former classes and again was quick to establish rapport with my son. He reassured my son he understood there are different learning styles and teaching methods. Sometimes, the two styles don't match and that's where he provides assistance. After Shaun left, my 18 year old son said he wanted Shaun to help him with his Physics. We look forward to working with Shaun over the coming high school years. Expedient, intelligent, friendly and excellent communication with teenagers.
