"Decades of computer and photography experience; patient teacher."
I've always enjoyed writing, but I also love to write well. Ever since my first typing class in high school, I've greatly enjoyed the ability to rapidly express myself clearly, avoiding the ambiguity of messy handwriting. Without proper and audience-appropriate grammar and spelling, you may not be sending the message you intended. Leverage my twenty-plus years of proofreading experience by allowing me to tutor you in the craft of reading material with an objective eye toward efficient communication that impacts the reader in a positive way, not scratching their head in confusion, or placing y ... This tutor has mad skills with accounting and financial statements. He teaches using examples which makes the lessons easier to understand. Ernest does not get annoyed when asked the same question or when I asked him to say something in another way if I can't understand (English is my third language). He is accessible by email, phone, and works around my schedule which is helpful to me as between work and school my hours are very irregular.
If you're in need of a tutor, I recommend him!

"Ernie- Retired Partner- C.P.A. firm-Experienced Tutor"
I have tutored many relatives in accounting at Ohio State and Franklin University. I try to make the student understand the underlying accounting principles that are involved in their problems. To train them in ways to cross check and verify their answers. I try to get the student to verbalize what they have learned. I firmly believe that if they can explain it logically to me,they understand. If not, more work is necessary. In addition, the ability to communicate is critical in the accounting... ... More

Susan,
You have been extremely helpful in getting my son thru reading while on the lazy days of summer.
I liked the strategies used it was helpful enabling him to think more in terms of what he needs to be aware of in reading as the books he reads are getting longer and longer.
We are happy with the service received.

"Licensed Intervention Teacher for Reading/Writing/ESL/Test Prep"
I'm currently in grad school working toward certification in special education, but it's been mainly through tutoring that I've gained experience with children with attention difficulties.
In fact, I'm reluctant to call them attention difficulties, because they can be so useful -- people who know when an idea has run its course, or who can respond to small environmental changes can be extremely valuable to society. However, they can be challenging to a linear learning process.
As a tutor, I seek to find ways to make learning fun for children who are stressed by the "sit still and listen met ... More

I started working with Andrew as I was struggling with Organic Chemistry. I wish I had started tutoring with Andrew earlier in the semester. Prior to tutoring, Organic Chemistry felt like a foreign language to me. Andrew was very patient, and explained concepts in ways I was able to understand them. Rather than simply giving me the answers, he asked me questions and helped me work through problems so that I finally understood the concepts. With his help I was able to finally begin to understand and enjoy Organic Chemistry. I would highly recommend Andrew as a tutor!

"Chemistry and Mathematics: from the fundamentals to your success!"
I graduated from Pitzer College with a B.A. in chemistry and am currently pursuing my Ph.D. in organic chemistry at The Ohio State University. For my last two years in college, I tutored extensively in introductory and organic chemistry. I quickly became the most popular tutor because of my patience, dedication, and instructional ability. My emphasis was and still is on understanding the fundamental concepts as problem solving naturally follows. Teaching and drilling the “how†of problem solv... ... More

We meet at Worthington library every time. She introduced me to the library because it is located at the middle of each other's place, and I really like that place. Every time she reserves the study room for our lesson. The room is quiet and bright, I think it's very good for tutoring.
The first time, she prepared some conversation practicing books so I could choose what I wanted to do. And she gave me vocabulary homework. We exchanged e-mail with each other before the first lesson, so she could prepare the first lesson for me. Every time she checked my needs for studying English, and then she prepared it for the next lesson. Even though I forgot it, she still remembers about my needs and requests. She has a lot of sources for teaching ESL; book, newspapers for ESL, internet sites, etc. I think she has lots of experience for teaching ESL. I really appreciate her. Thank you Meghan!

"Experienced ESOL teacher with Master's degree from Ohio State"
I love teaching English to adults and helping them reach their goals.
Here is some information about my educational and teaching background. I graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. Then, I taught grades 1 through 4 for six years. Next, I began a Master's program in TESOL at OSU. After I graduated with my Master's degree from Ohio State, I began teaching ESOL to students from the pre-literate level to highly advanced at the Columbus Literacy Council. Then I bega... ... More
