Our daughter has now been working with Alan for 2 months. They meet twice weekly for 1 hour. I can not overstate the value of personal attention to improve learning. The following outlines the benefits we've noted at this stage:
-Our child's motivation to learn has improved dramatically. She demonstrates a self-imposed discipline about completing homework on the days she is not working with Alan and eagerly prepares for his arrival on session dates.
-Grades have improved from "C"s and "B"s on last report card to "A"s and "B"s on current progress report. Improvement is noted in ALL subjects. Her test scores have improved dramatically. We also note that she is actually learning, not just churning out a "C" by regurgitating information.
-Our child is taking pride in her work!! She is no longer dragging through school work like it is a chore.
Our goals were to help our child with reading comprehension and improving math skill. It's amazing to me how focusing on a couple of subject areas has provided benefit to her in all subjects. It has also made home life a lot easier - by investing a little in tutoring, the nightly stress/struggle of homework and disappointments with poor test results are fading from memory. We have more time to enjoy each other and have a little fun!

"Tutor Specializing in English and History"
I graduated from Strayer University in 2014 with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. Back in the eighth grade I fell very far behind in my pre-algebra class and required a tutor to help me get caught up in the coursework.
While it was not something that I wanted shared with everyone, my first my tutor worked with me twice a week and helped me improve my grade two letter grades. I credit everything I learned and the improvements made to her and all the help she provided me. By the tim... ... More
I have now enjoyed two lessons with Natalya. With each succeeding lesson, my confidence grows in both my instruction and my instructor. After studying independently for more than a year, I felt that it made sense to engage a tutor, preferably one whose native language is Russian. It is always an uncertain journey when searching for such an instructor. I’m very well pleased that I made contact with Natalya and hope that this continues to grow into a mutually beneficial partnership. She has helped me identify and correct some learning mistakes that I would never have come to realize using former study methods. Nothing replaces the personal interest and attention that a private instructor is capable of providing. Natalya provides for that need admirably. I hope to develop into a student that she can take pride in as well.
