Peter is a very good instructor and comes to each lesson well prepared and he has the patience needed for students new to a foreign language. He also does a great job of following up with a review of the lessons work the next day. He also goes above and beyond in supplying supplemental study materials that are helpful. I give him an A.

Steven is an outstanding tutor. One of the best I have seen. He was very patient and understanding of all my needs. He was on time and was very friendly and welcoming. He was detailed and explained things in laymen terms and I have now a better understanding of what I need to do. Steven came to my rescue on short notice and I am very grateful! I will definitely be using him again and referring him to my classmates. Again, OUTSTANDING!

After my daughter began becoming frustrated in Honors Chemistry and getting Cs and Ds on tests, we looked for a tutor through WyzAnt and began working with Carol. Carol worked with Rachel about once a week for a full quarter and helped her complete her homework packets, study for quizzes/tests, and study for her semester final exam. Carol's approach really worked for Rachel. Carol would ask Rachel questions and look at Rachel's work to figure out how much Rachel already understood and then go from there. Carol also gave Rachel positive feedback about what she already understood - like "O.K. - so you understand that," which really helped Rachel see that she wasn't "stupid" (Rachel's words, and a big block for her), gave her some confidence, and helped motivate her to keep working. Rachel also felt like she always solved the problem - Carol would guide her along with questions and then explain the concepts that were giving Rachel difficulty. Rachel has a tendency to stall out if she doesn't understand something immediately, and, from what I can tell, this never happened with Carol; every session was extremely positive and Rachel always came home feeling like she understood the material and could do it on her own. Rachel went into the tutoring sessions with a C average, and ended the quarter with a solid A average. She also felt very good going into her Semester final. Although the improvement in Rachel's grades was really important, the key for me was that Carol helped Rachel go from feeling confused and "stupid" (her words) to feeling comfortable and pretty confident about Chemistry. Both of us are grateful.
