"Passion for both linguistics and people drive my approach."
A camp counselor for six summers and on head staff for one of them, I have a gregarious, fun-loving personality, and people tend to feel welcomed by me immediately. I do have experience teaching and writing curriculum and tutoring, especially English, writing skills, etc. I've worked with children, youth, and college students, loving the small role I get to play in championing students' success, whether academic or otherwise. We all have skills and gifts to offer the world, and likewise, can ... ... More

"Life of English"
I have a few years of tutoring experience. I tutored one of my fellow students in high school who fell ill with Leukemia. I would drive to his house and help him with English so that he could graduate high school, and he did! I also spend a lot of my time at school helping my friends with their essays and literature homework.
I will come to you because I firmly believe that students learn better in more familiar environments because they are more comfortable. I also hold myself to high st... ... More

I am an education major at Truett McConnell College. My interests include history, science, and anthropology. I love to learn, and I love helping other people learn.
I have tutored quite a few people and have worked as a teacher's aide. I have tutored people in biology, mathematics, and history. History... ... More

My lesson with Richard H. on 4/20/11 was very productive! He was very patient, courteous and professional. He knows Excel well enough to teach in a computer science classroom environment. I give him a rating of 5 stars (out of 5) in all categories. He truly deserves it.

My son and I met Noah today for the first time and we are very excited about getting started with him. He had some great ideas on how to tackle the material, and how to curtail it to my son's learning style. Noah mentioned in one of his emails that he enjoys making teaching fun. At the end of the meeting session, my son said "I'm excited" about tutoring with Noah! I have no doubt now, after meeting Noah, that he will indeed make the subject fun and interesting! He is passionate about history and Noah's excitement has already inspired my son! He gave some examples of "fun" anecdotes to remember some AP World History facts. Noah stated "history is like telling a story." It is easier to remember facts that way! What a great way to approach the subject! He is personable and appears to be very knowledgeable. My son is looking forward to getting started with him! Thanks WyzAnt for setting us up with Noah!

Feeling overwhelmed with preparing for the MCAT but not wanting to take an expensive prep class, Cara Marie's daily 30 minute group review has been my saving grace! Working, taking classes and volunteering while preparing for the MCAT has been one of my biggest struggles has been trying to integrate studying into my busy schedule.
These short daily reviews that Cara Marie creates based on the MCAT syllabus, have helped give my studying the structure and jump start I desperately needed. She has the gift of taking complex topics (Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physics etc), and makes these topics easy to understand. These group reviews are perfect to attend as a supplement to a review class (such as Examkrackers, Princeton Review etc) or for those studying independently. In addition to the 30 minute review also includes practice problems, summary sheets for various topics and recordings of each session! If you are feeling lost or overwhelmed with preparing for this exam, start attending MCAT group reviews!
