I have a Master's degree from SUNY Cortland. My love of teaching stems from a lifelong love of learning. I have taken many classes in humanities and social sciences-along with education-to make me quite well-rounded. For the past couple years, I have been substitute teaching in local area schools and evidently enjoyed it enough to recently become a licensed elementary education teacher.

Allen started tutoring my daughter in early January, in person for the first visit, then online for the following weeks.
The online tutoring is fantastic and works well for our family.
Allen has been a patient and dedicated tutor for my daughter who's in Algebra 2 honors.
He checks in with her after tests and emails difficult problems for her to practice.
Using the weekly online tutoring, Allen's helped her increase her grade to one comparable with her other subjects.
The online tutoring is an economical and efficient way to help your child especially during the current winter weather.

"Experienced tutor of Algebra, Precalculus, Calculus and Physics"
The traditional first stumbling block in Algebra I is the concept of a “variableâ€, or representing numbers with symbols such a letters. The next hurdle is typically signed numbers, symbolic operations on variables, and equations. These require extensive interactive examples and discussion.
My general approach in a 1-on-1 tutoring environment is interactive. I can explain concepts and illustrate methods, but the student isn't learning until he or she does something with it. The student will spend much of the session solving problems under my guidance.
