"Melody: Intellectual Curiosity, Original Thinking, Language"
My theatre training and experience includes LAMDA (The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) one of the three and co-equal leading acting schools at the time in England, along with RADA (Royal Academy) and Central. I played a series of leading roles in Shakespeare, Jacobean and Restoration dramas at Cambridge, at The ADC Theatre (formerly Footlights) as well as at various dramatic societies of the colleges of Cambridge and was favorably reviewed by the Guardian and the Independent. I was also trained in the German Classical theatre by leading members of the famed per-war Berliner Schaubue ... More

"Writing and Literacy Tutor"
I am a 5-8 & 7-12 Highly Qualified Certified English teacher. I believe that every child has a voice, and if a child has to struggle to write, it is truly painful. It is important to help every child learn to communicate through their writing. Children also need to learn to read for meaning and to decide, when working with informational text, what is important to remember. I work as an Ed. Tech III in middle school Special Education, and know, first hand, what children need to learn ... ... More

Hello Everybody,
My name is Jonathan, and I may be the ideal tutor for you!
I recently graduated from the University of New Mexico with a bachelor's degree in English. I have done private tutoring before, but this is my first time as a WyzAnt tutor. In addition to tutoring, I work full-time as a Manager in Training for RadioShack.
In general, I favor a "hands-on" approach to teaching that involves a lot of interaction between the tutor and student. However, my specific methods vary acco... ... More

Michael was the perfect answer for a very frustrating situation we encountered mid-year. Our son, 15, was struggling in 10th grade math and when the second half of the year began (Jan. 2011) he was failing. He had little to no support at school and a teacher who wasn't able to explain the work or answer questions. His frustration grew out of control and as much as we tried to help as parents, we knew it was best to get outside help. Michael not only built him back up, but also helped him pull his grade up and finish the year with a B! He even jumped in and helped with Physical Science when there were tough tests to study for in that class as well.
We would highly recommend Michael and are glad that we found him - it made our son's year end on a high note!

I am beginning to see progress with Michelle's technique of tutoring my grandson. It is apparent that she spends a great deal of time preparing for each lesson. She makes learning a fun activity and is always able to adapt herself to his moods or lack of attention. Her written reviews are completely honest a extremely thorough. She is definitely the best person to tutor my grandson and I feel the cost is thoroughly worth it.
