"Kara S. History: American & World, Social Studies"

I graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in History from Emporia State University in 2013. I was awarded Undergraduate in Social Sciences of the Year and History Student of the Year for the 2012-2013 academic year. I have a strong passion for history and look forward to sharing this passion with students who may be struggling with social sciences. As a history major I understand that students either love history or find it incredibly boring. I also believe that when presented in a manner... ... More

Arthur makes himself easily available for tutoring Chemistry and Geometry at the Science Labs at Westminster College, a wonderful building and Athur's natural environment. If you are lucky, you may come upon him wearing his protective goggles and his white coat, a skateboard leaning against the nearby wall. Arthur's excitement about science comes across loud and clear; translating basic chemistry text into interesting language and ideas that really grabbed my 15 year old son. DB is getting good grades because of Arthur's explanations, quizzing and sincere interest in transmitting what he understands of his subject to another person. He is just the kind of person you want to adjoin a regular class. He encourages a different way of looking at the same subjects. Have you ever seen Dexter's Laboratory??

"President of Westminster Swim Club"

I love what I do. I swim on my own as well as with the U.S.A. swim team. I have just graduated from Westminster with a major in chemistry, and am now working with the National Geographic educational program, Animal Jam. I am a beekeeper, and my principle role at Animal Jam is to present on camera to produce educational videos about animals, primarily bees and other insects. I have been guided by the International Baccalaureate program, and have traveled to Mexico, Costa Rica, Columbia, Pan... ... More

We had hired Steven to help raise our daughter's ACT score for college admission. He was very professional, always on time for sessions, and explained materials to her in a way that she could understand. He helped to raise her ACT score which was the goal! He has knowledge of multiple subjects, which helps if you need tutoring in more than one subject. We would definitely use his service again if needed! Our daughter was very comfortable with him as her tutor!

"Algebra is easy; everything is easy once you understand it."

"But that's easy!" is the response I hope for and often get when I teach. I have been a licensed secondary (grades 6-12) teacher for over ten years. My first career was as a military officer. For some reason, when I retired, my wife of many years informed me that sitting around the house was not an option. Our daughters were in middle and high school at the time. Their dinner table stories about school were, at times, a bit scary. I had all the qualifications to be a long-term substitute... ... More
