"Experienced, Energetic, Encouraging"

Teaching is not only my chosen career, but one of my favorite activities to do! Beside teaching, I am fortunate to have a wonderful family: a husband of 43 years, a beautiful daughter and five grandchildren who are almost grown. In my spare time, I enjoy doing creative things such as decorating, painting and flower gardening, but I also enjoy being with friends and talking about every subject under the sun! I am one of the most energetic people you'll ever meet. First of all, I like ... ... More

"Creative Tutor, ADHD Coach, College Applications Navigator"

I have home schooled my own children, two of whom have ADD/ADHD. In the course of doing so, I have read and studied extensively on the subject. I am currently a consultant for my home school umbrella group assisting members with children who have special learning needs. I have become known in this group for my success in teaching writing to middle and high school students with ADD/ADHD. Last year, I assisted three young men with ADD/ADHD in applying to college and coached one young man in effectively handling his community college courses. My eldest son is currently in school at the Universi ... More

"University of Maryland Grad Specializing in Reading, Writing, and ESL"

Hello! My name is Phoenix (Ashleigh is my legal name), and I am looking to tutor students in different areas of English, including language, literature, test prep, grammar, and writing. I am mostly interested in tutoring older students (middle school - high school and adult), but am also open to younger students (first-fifth graders). I've always had a love for reading, writing, and words in general (I recall from a young age being obsessed with reading the dictionary). All through school, I... ... More

Professor Daniel is very patient and understanding. He is awesome! He has an excellent style of teaching that allows the students to explore concepts. Definitely helped me with my grammar for my Business Ethics class. Highly recommend, professor Daniel, especially for writing courses. He'll be wonderful at it! Very accessible through email.

"I solve learning problems and motivate students to succeed."

Hi. I am usually available immediately for brainstorming, editing, and writing support. I understand student needs. I meet privately or communicate on-line with students when they need support for assignment completion and learning issues that get in the way of their studies and reduce their performance and grades. I am primarily a college instructor teaching professional writing. This naturally includes working on reading comprehension skills as a byproduct. Many of my students come wit... ... More

Ryan is patient and courteous. He encourages my daughter to ask questions and makes sure she understands before moving on. I am very pleased with him.
Miss Jessica is a very patient and knowledgeable tutor, she has been teaching my 5-years-old son, who has autism for three weeks now, and I've already seen improvements in his work. In her lessons her experience as a certified ESE school teacher shows, her knowledge and how she works with my son skills as well as improving other areas he needs more work with has been helping him a lot. And as I mentioned, miss Jessica is very patient and is always in a great mood which I think is so important when teaching a child with special needs. My son loves her and is always looking forward to have his lessons with her. Thank you Ms. Jessica for being such a great tutor for my little guy!
